These medium to large size pieces measure a bit over 8 ... more1/4" from the top of the shelf to the bottom tip. And the surface area of the shelf top is about 9 3/8" wide by 4 1/2" deep which is the maximum depth they would stick out from a wall when mounted. The pieces weigh close to two pounds each unpacked. They are made of what appears to be white plaster or a similar material and the gold finish looks similar to gilders paste/paint. There is a small wire rod in the plaster with a twisted piece of wire on the back of each for hanging. Both are in good condition with no major loss or cracks. Both have light to dark spots or areas in the top shelf part(3rd photo from last) and the other has several small chips and related finish loss. The'worst' chipped area is shown in the last photo but there is nothing that could not easily be touched up. These pieces have a very pretty design that in our opinion tends towards an Italian or French design. A great pair of older sconces! Please take the time to inspect all photos to determine the condition of this item as they are part of our description. Questions are encouraged and always welcome. Set of 2 Two Vintage Antique Architectural Gold Paint Plaster Corbels Brackets !
Hi: For your consideration here is a nice set of two(2) vintage or antique sconces or brackets! These medium to large size pieces measure a bit over 8 1/4" from the top of the shelf to the bottom tip. And the surface area of the shelf top is about 9 3/8" wide by 4 1/2" deep which is the maximum depth they would stick out from a wall when mounted. The pieces weigh close to two pounds each unpacked. They are made of what appears to be white plaster or a similar material and the gold finish looks similar to gilders paste/paint. There is a small wire rod in the plaster with a twisted piece of wire on the back of each for hanging. Both are in good condition with no major loss or cracks. Both have light to dark spots or areas in the top shelf part(3rd photo from last) and the other has several small chips and related finish loss. ... moreThe'worst' chipped area is shown in the last photo but there is nothing that could not easily be touched up. Pair Large Antique Heavy Plaster Corbels Wall Shelf 19th c 17"x14"x14" Good vintage condition. They have been painted over. There are a couple areas that have minor damage such as a cracked corner. A chipped front edge and a hole in the deep recess of one of the leaves. All of which can easily be repaired if so desired. Both corbels are marked with a large"14" on top which is likely a size mark being that they are 17" wide x 14" tall x 14" deep. One corbel is marked"J" on top with"SJ" inside. The other is marked"A" on top with"SA" inside. These corbels were purchased 12 years ago from an antiques house in Ireland. I believe they are from ireland or England. Due to the size and weight of these items. we will only ship to the lower 48 US states. Sorry. No PO boxes.
