Stayed at a fabulous B&B in South Dakota- made even more heaven by the fact that they also had an antique store on the property. I shopped in several other locations in both states and brought home some great primitives. Advertising, pottery, and all in all interesting finds. Before I left, I went to a new farm auction, and an estate auction- so I have a BUNCH of new items this week- I’ll be posting every day, so be sure to check back! I love these wonderful corbels. There's so many things you can do with them- from using them on/in your house. To making them shelf brackets, to decorative accents. They are original late 1800s farmhouse corbels, and they are awesome. Made from solid ... morewood, it's a matching set of 4, all with layers and layers of old white paint- thick with it, and it's shabby worn, crackled and chipped of in many spots. I left the old square iron nails just as I found them- they are sticking out of the wood, so you have to be careful when you remove them. Each corbel measures 10 3/16" by 6 1/4" and the wood is a solid 1 3/4" thick. Each one weighs a little over 1 lb. All are in excellent solid and sturdy condition except one, that is missing the very tip of the end of its short side- see photo 12 where I'm showing you the chipped one on the right and a non-chipped one on the left. It's missing the very curly up piece on the top- it's shallow, so it's really hard to notice. When you look at the photos of all 4 corbels together- it's always the one on the far right- see how hard it is to notice? I'm sorry for the foggy pictures- it's so steamy here right now, my camer lens keeps fogging up! architecture 6 wood Victorian gingerbread porch corbels shelf brackets hand made
I was planning on using these on my front porch but went with a totally different design scheme. Here you have six corbels that were handmade and found at an estate sale. They are made of wood. A soft wood, not sure what kind. They would need a good coating of stain/primer and painted. or leave unfinished. I really love the design on these, a really nice pattern. It would look great for shelving but would need some material to fatten them up a little. Size are all the same and pattern is the same. long 16 inches and 3/8th tall 10 inches depth 1/2 inch thick shipping is going to be 20$ flat fee shipping US only. Nice older pair of carved wood corbels. Brackets, or shelf holders or whatever. An unknown type of wood, but if I were guessing, I would say walnut, has that Eastlake look. Interesting pieces of carved wood. Almost 8" long, 2 7/8" wide, and 1 1/8" thick. Have holes in the back for pegs to hold this on whatever if came off of. Has no finish that I can tell. May have originally held a shelf on an old pump organ, dresser, or dining room piece, maybe even off an old mantle. Anyway, very nice. A wonderful pair of matching antique wooden Victorian corbels. Or gingerbread as some call it. These were salvaged from New Bedford, Massachusetts. These have original paint and patina. They measure approximately 15 1/2" x 12" and are 2 1/4" thick. One has a little damage to the top. Which any carpenter or woodworker can round off, do the same to the other, and make them both match exactly. The other one has a bit of a chunk out of the bottom, near the side, which can easily be filled. See all photos. These are substantially weighty pieces- the real deal. Coming to you original. As is and unrestored. Can be used as is or stripped and re-used. They are fabulous!

3 Antique Wooden Corbels or Brackets- 1880s Pine with most of the paint stripped off- shabby. Chippy paint Hand Carved Measure 12" tall x 8" deep x 3 3/4" wide Missing the finials One has been cut just above the bottom edge. And has a chip at the bottom. Another has a very old split on both sides, about 2 1/2" long. The third has a chunk out of the top left edge. These are a wonderful old set that can be used as brackets for a shelf or kitchen island. Or even as bookends for as great architectural acccent. Shipping to the USA and Canada is FREE! They measure 24 inches tall by 17 inches long by 3 5/8 inches wide. They are somewhat dirty and would clean up quite nicely, or could strip them and add fresh paint. Here are two gorgeous examples of Victorian wood trim in beautiful condition. I am no expert on antiques or architectural salvage. But I did a little research and hope I am using the right terminology. These have been at my parents' home for years if not decades. I grew up in an old house in the 1960s and they may have intended to put them on it, but never did, so they've been safely inside all this time. It's time someone put them to use as shelf brackets, book ends, decorative trim or whatever you can dream up! They measure 14" x 12" and are about 1" wide. They are in very good solid condition with no rot or chips and beautifully jointed corners They even still have a couple of the original mounting nails stuck in them! I saved these from a house that is being torn down these two Corbels are in great condition with no wood rot. They are 16 X 24 X 7. They were made and came off the house in two seperate pieces. I have screwed them together so one could see what they look like I will take these back apart for shipping as they are fragile. These weigh in at 10 pounds each with no major defects.
