All the moldings are present but need nailed on. There is chippy brown paint with bare wood in places. Each measures 13.25 inches deep with moldings. 11.5 inches tall and 8 inches thick with moldings. Overall. They are in good co ndition. There are misc. light scratches and dings as they are antique. Selling as a PAIR these Architectural Salvage Victorian corbels. In what appears to be in their original green paint color. They are sold AS IS untouched- they have wear to them, as expected such as nails, holes, and some paint flaking and chipping, which really adds to its charm(See photos. One of the corbels has a small piece of trim missing on one end. See photo 1) They measure 18" x 16" x 6" and weigh about 6.5lbs each. Ornately carved antique oak winged griffin. It is in excellent condition. I found this piece about 15 years ago in Central Wisconsin. It had been removed from an old public building that had been torn down for a shopping center. I have had it displayed in my office since then. But it is time to continue our downsizing and let someone else enjoy it. I am glad I was able to help preserve this piece.it is really nicely done. It is classic gothic style with wings, a crown and a curved tail. It is a heavy piece that weighs about 7 pounds. It appears to have been carved from three pieces of wood. The bottom has two holes that must have been used in the original mounting. Stayed at a fabulous B&B in South Dakota- made even more heaven by the fact that they also had an antique store on the property. I shopped in several other locations in both states and brought home some great primitives. Advertising, pottery, and all in all interesting finds. Before I left, I went to a new farm auction, and an estate auction- so I have a BUNCH of new items this week- I’ll be posting every day, so be sure to check back! I love these wonderful corbels. There's so many things you can do with them- from using them on/in your house. To making them shelf brackets, to decorative accents. They are original late 1800s farmhouse corbels, and they are awesome. Made from solid ... morewood, it's a matching set of 4, all with layers and layers of old white paint- thick with it, and it's shabby worn, crackled and chipped of in many spots. I left the old square iron nails just as I found them- they are sticking out of the wood, so you have to be careful when you remove them. Each corbel measures 10 3/16" by 6 1/4" and the wood is a solid 1 3/4" thick. Each one weighs a little over 1 lb. All are in excellent solid and sturdy condition except one, that is missing the very tip of the end of its short side- see photo 12 where I'm showing you the chipped one on the right and a non-chipped one on the left. It's missing the very curly up piece on the top- it's shallow, so it's really hard to notice. When you look at the photos of all 4 corbels together- it's always the one on the far right- see how hard it is to notice? I'm sorry for the foggy pictures- it's so steamy here right now, my camer lens keeps fogging up! ANTIQUE VICTORIAN GABLE END BRACKET / GINGERBREAD / CORBEL
This is a gable end bracket from an antique Victorian era house. It is made of pine and has chamfered edges. Cut-outs on the ends, it is missing a small medallion or block at the bottom center. It measures aprox. 40" wide at the bottom and is 21 1/2" high in the center. The original paint has been removed, there is a little damage on the ends which you can see in the pictures. It is available for pickup or can be shipped by Fed Ex ground for 18.80 including insurance to the lower 48 states. We have more than one of these presently listed. Nice older pair of carved wood corbels. Brackets, or shelf holders or whatever. An unknown type of wood, but if I were guessing, I would say walnut, has that Eastlake look. Interesting pieces of carved wood. Almost 8" long, 2 7/8" wide, and 1 1/8" thick. Have holes in the back for pegs to hold this on whatever if came off of. Has no finish that I can tell. May have originally held a shelf on an old pump organ, dresser, or dining room piece, maybe even off an old mantle. Anyway, very nice. From the estate of an antiques dealer. Beautiful scroll detailing! Very good antique condition. There is a chip on each corner; on one side it has been squared away(shown in photos) A split in the wood is visible in the upclose photograph. Nails are still intact and piece is solid. Piece has been stained a very dark brown. Almost black. This is a larger bracket. Measuring 23" across from corner to corner. Each side measures 16 1/4" long. Piece is 1 1/4" thick. Antique Victorian Wooden Corbel 1800's
Corbel measure 5.25" W x 9" D x 13.25" H The original finial got removed from this corbel long before i acquired the house that it came from. I replaced it with a new finial of a similar size. I did not glue the finial in place because you might want to strip the corbel first. Or choose not to use it at all. There is a strip of wood missing from the front trim piece, exposing the old square nails used for attaching the trim to the corbel.

PR of Matching Antique Architectural Victorian Wood Corbels Gingerbread Salvage
A wonderful pair of matching antique wooden Victorian corbels. Or gingerbread as some call it. These were salvaged from New Bedford, Massachusetts. These have original paint and patina. They measure approximately 15 1/2" x 12" and are 2 1/4" thick. One has a little damage to the top. Which any carpenter or woodworker can round off, do the same to the other, and make them both match exactly. The other one has a bit of a chunk out of the bottom, near the side, which can easily be filled. See all photos. These are substantially weighty pieces- the real deal. Coming to you original.
