From antiques estate! seems to be mahogany, a nice dark wood, with nice patina brass drawer knobs and swivel hardware for the mirror. so much detail work in the carving of the reeded cheval brace topped with the beautiful pineapple finials. Click on photos for close up view! There is a slight overall haze in the mirror's silvering, commensurates with the true turn of century glass mirrors. This is about 18 inches tall x 19 inches wide x 12 inches deep. A couple very minor knicks and a burnt burl spot on the flat surface-see photos. Beautiful wood. this appears to have been gently used. Lovely design. Weighs about 18 lbs.

The serpentine mahogany base is on four bun feet, the elevation with finely figured mahogany veneers. The mahogany mirror uprights are carved as acanthus scrolls, the mirror frame with figured veneers. It measures 34" tall by 31" wide by 12-1/2" deep at center. Late 19th century Vanity with mirror for restoration
You are looking at an antique vanity with the original mirror. some of the draw pulls are missing but the ones there are original. the casters are original and work. It measures 45 inches long. 31 1/2 inches high and 19 1/2 inches deep, including drawers. It needs some TLC and it would be a wonderful vanity. I'm trying to find the original screws but might not be able to. Not sure who made it but numbers are on the rear. The mirror is perfect. This beauty stands a whopping 33" tall. Is 28" wide, and 11.5 deep. She has lots of chips and a patch job. Please view pictures carefully. I have tried to take pictures of all of it so you can see them. I think the top it is mahogany veneer. The dolphins are 1" thick, 6.5" wide, and 21" tall. The side drawers are 6.25 wide; middle drawer 9.5. From bottom to top of shelf is 6" Mirror[which has been replaced] is 16.25 wide and 21 3/8 tall[this is sight for mirror, not including the frame] When I bought it years ago I made sure the key worked and opened it and locked it several times before buying it. It is in good antique condition with normal wear and tear commensurate with age and use- some dings and scratching found commonly on old furniture. There is also some loss to the veneer left of center on the front, just beneath the bottom drawer(see photos) There is also a repair to the shelf on the bottom where the wood split and was reinforced underneath. A awesome find. American empire circa 1850-60 NY made vanity/petticoat mirror. Last one of these I seen I actually sold about eight years ago at auction for 4500$. Never seen another since. This one I've had a good while but time to move on to the next stop. It's been restored to a brilliant condition And is very clean. A unique model in every way with its petticoat mirrored bottom supporting a marble top and then a harp holding another vanity mirror above. It's very early and would venture to say could be even before 1850. Crotch mahogany everywhere Makes it really pop. Look at the escutcheon made of abalone. Antique Mahogany Vanity W/mirror Circa 1880
This vanity I acquired from my grandmother about 40 years ago but that doesn't even begin to date it. It had originally belonged to her grandmother. It was built originally in the late 1800's. I dated it based on what could be found for it's style and that my grandmother remembered it when she was a young child. My grandmother was born in 1885. It came by horse and buggy from St Louis in 1898. It has had a couple of changes since then. One was new drawers in the 1930's and the other was a new mirror after arriving here as the original broke during the trip. The vanity will be shipped in one or two boxes. It has several small screws which will allow the legs to be removed as well as the drawers and mirror. It is a very simple task to reassemble and all pieces will be marked to be sure they are in the right place. The vanity ... moreis quite strong and the drawers slide easily. I would live to keep the piece but am needing to sell most things due to an upcoming move to much smaller space.
