He is known for his miniature world atlas'Tabularum geographicarum contractarum' Although not an actual mapmaker himself. Bertius's text was embellished with maps from the foremost engravers of the late 1500's and early 1600's, including Pieter Van den Keere and Jocodus Hondius. This auction is for a rare hand colored map of Bohemia from 1630. This map was made by Petrus Kaerius and published by Joannes Janssonius. Also known as Jan Jansson. Jan Jansson was one of the greatest cartographers and map publishers of his time and the son in law of Hondius.
