Up for auction is a vintage brochure with map titled: Bundesrepublik Deutschland Sudlicher Teil Bayern. The brochure consists of 23 pages. It measures approx. 7.75" x 8.25" The mapunfolds to approx. 23.25" x 14.5" There is a date within the map's key of 1937 which dates this to the pre-WWII Era. Brochure is printed entirely in German. It has been stored folded in half. So there is a crease down the center. This is a vintage piece and which shows some wear and little tears along the folds. The map also shows some wear and tiny tears. There are, however, no strong, unpleasant odors. We consider our photos to be the most important aspect of our descriptions and strongly recommend using the zoom feature on each photo for optimal viewing. Description: This fascinating 1862 map by Justus Perthes and Stieler depicts the physical geography of central Europe(or as it is called greater Deutschland) from the Adriatic to the Baltic and as far west as Beligum. Cities are noted. But there are not political distinctions. In a display of cartographic flair unique to Perthes maps, a land elevation profiles decorate the bottom and sides of the map. Unlike other cartographic publishers of the period, the Justus Perthes firm, did not transition to lithographic printing techniques.
