A wonderful pair of matching antique wooden Victorian corbels. Or gingerbread as some call it. These were salvaged from New Bedford, Massachusetts. These have original paint and patina. They measure approximately 15 1/2" x 12" and are 2 1/4" thick. One has a little damage to the top. Which any carpenter or woodworker can round off, do the same to the other, and make them both match exactly. The other one has a bit of a chunk out of the bottom, near the side, which can easily be filled. See all photos. These are substantially weighty pieces- the real deal. Coming to you original. As is and unrestored. Can be used as is or stripped and re-used. They are fabulous!

Antique Martha's Vineyard Architectural Carpenter Gothic Wood Corbel Gingerbread
A wonderful antique wooden Carpenter Gothic corbel. Or gingerbread as some call it. This were salvaged from underneath a cottage that was built in 1866 in the Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association, Oak Bluffs, on Martha's Vineyard island, Massachusetts. This has original natural patina. It does not have coats and coats of paint on it- some drops and remnants of"Methodist green" paint here and there. This measures approximately 19" x 10 1/4" and are 1 3/4" thick. It has a little damage to the bottom drop. Which any carpenter or woodworker can round off. See all photos. Fabulous Antique French Wooden Shabby Gilded CORBEL Rods Holders Pair
Such old corbels in this design are a rare find. As these will hold a tapestry or curtain rod or you can weave a drape through the circular opening. You can also set a shelf on top. Former owner states that the corbels are originally from France. Circa 1900. They are rendered from wood and have remnants of old paint showing under the old gold paint on top. Some wear commensurate with age. A little chipping, rubs, etc. and if you look closely you can see small areas of little chips having been repaired in a couple places, there are some cracks. Splits, etc. Please see images-both are structurally sound. All the imperfections only add charm and authenticity. The plywood backs with hooks are a later addition for hanging easily on the wall. They could be removed if you prefer. Each measures 13.5" tall. 9" from base deepest point, 4" ... morewide total, 3/4" thick front to back. These are great brackets for framing a doorway or to use as large shelf brackets. These are large brackets. They measures 8 3/4" x 6 1/4" Brackets are painted a silver color and are a metal as a magnets will adhere to them. No name or manufacturers marks. This is a great large set with art deco styling. Antique Ogee Gilt Carved Shelf Corbel Pair
This is an antique pair of carved. Gilt ogee shelves or corbels. These shelves/corbels were found at the estate of a world traveler. They are very heavy, likely 5-7lbs each. The primary wood appears to be black walnut with a secondary wood of oak. This pair shows some minor chipping showing a base gesso covered by a reddish color and then gold coloration. These have some good age to them, and do have some old evidence of worms(not active) They measure 13" long by 5 1/2" high. by 6 3/4" deep. The actual tops are 11 1/2" long by 6" deep. These are very substantial shelves/corbels which are classic in design, and could accent any period decor right up to contemporary. Leave as they are, or refinish to sleek lines.
