The chairs are solid mahogany and date from the 1930s to 1940s in good original condition. A couple of the chair backs have small cracks, and one has a chip on the side post. They are in a brownish mahogany color that goes well with the upholstery. The overall size of the armchair is 21 inches on the outside of the arms, 18 inches on the inside of the arms, 19 inches deep, 21 inches high to the seat, 28.

The back legs are backswept, giving the side profile a fine consistent curve while lending incredible strength and stability to the form. The four legs are locked in place with a box-stretcher that tenons directly into each leg. This one-of-a-kind set of a gorgeous mahogany dining table and 8 chairs that my great-grandfather had commissioned in the early 1930's. The table stands on 2 pedestals. Each with w/3 brass clawed feet. With the help of 2 leaves(included) the table expands to 12 feet in length! It is in EXCELLENT condition. The chairs are as follows: There are 8 chairs total. 6 regular and 2 for the head/foot of the table and they have arms. They are 100% hand made from the strongest mahogany, I've been sitting on these chairs for as long as I can remember(about 35 years) and they don't even creak! Notice the intricate carving on the tops of all the chair backs, it's unbelievable! This set should not be passed on. Set of Seven American Federal Mahogany Dining Chairs Probably New York. Possibly Philadelphia c. 1805-15 Chairs stamped"M B" on back rails Item# 130210WXD05 This is a delightful set of period American Federal Dining Chairs. Almost certainly New York City c. 1805-1815. The"bell-shaped" seat and square back was commercially successful only in New York City and Philadelphia, the only two centers that consistently produced the form. This set is particularly attractive with the unusual front legs, each deeply reeded and tapered, set on a cant with the seat- the effect is wonderful, lightening the shape of the chairs, particularly as the bell-shape juxtaposes the square austerity of the neoclassical profile. Each back is crafted identically, the crest dropping onto the stiles and spindles with small tenons; the plain square ... moreback is deeply reeded, terminating into the seat with a shaped panel return. The back side of the splat reveals a canted frame and stiles, squaring at the seat frame to flow into backswept square rear legs. The seat frames are American Ash[visual analysis. Not micro-analysis] with[possibly] cherry medial stretchers; the craftsmanship is quite ingenious, as the round of the seat would naturally place the most pressure on where the stiles join the frame. To protect the chairs from this, a medial stretcher dovetails into either side, the gap filled with a thin piece to distribute pressure along the stretcher evenly. The only chair where this is not the case is the arm chair, where the length of the arm acts as a square and removes the need for this labor intensive seat joinery. The back rail of each seat is branded"M B" and each chair is numbered on the medial stretcher, leading us to believe the original set had at least twenty chairs in it. Fresh from New York City Madison avenue Estate. We have a pleasure to offer you this magnificent pair of French antique Early 19th century Period Empire Flamed Mahogany and Parcel Gilt CHAIRS. I fell in love with them on the first sight. They have slightly curved legs, High framed center panel rests, featuring an awesome Empire parcel gilt carved flower scroll center cartouche. It was gilt over red base, just phenomenal. Please take your time going over photos, look closely at the quality and detail of construction, closeups of the grain of wood and elegance of this pair. Also note in the last two photos, focus on criss cross pegging(pegs) that are holding this pair of beauties together. No screws or nails in it's construction. The condition of the chairs is what you would expect from normal wear of the chairs that are aproaching 200 ... moreyears of age. Upholstery is most likely from the first half of 20th century, thick yellowish greenish leather that has wear, could be restored if you wish or reupholstered. We purchased this table when we were first married which has been 35 years ago. It was purchased from an area gentleman and had been passed down to him from his grandmother, which at the time, he was in his late 40's when we purchased. So this table does have some age. It is fully functional, has beautiful detailing, and there are no problems in the sliding of the leafs and legs to turn it into a large dining table. This is a beautiful set. Though the table and chairs did not originally come together, they look as though they were made for each other. The incredible solid mahogany triple pedestal table is banded around the perimeter. The 3 pedestals all have 4 legs, each with brass casters. Each table section is attached to the pedestal, if you remove the center section, you also remove the center pedestal. The table was made by Georgian Furniture Manufacturers; this company no longer exists, they had showrooms in London, Paris, and Rome. Their furniture was of the highest reputation and built by hand in Seoul South Korea. It is incredibly well engineered and crafted. Table was likely made in the 1970's; the company now operating under this is not the same maker. The 8 Chippendale chairs are all solid wood, crafted in the United States, in Hickory, ... moreN.C. but Stanley Furniture Co. Stanley has been in Hickory since 1924 and has an outstanding reputation for high quality, especially their vintage products; these chairs are estimated to be from the early 1980's. They are in excellent condition, and are upholstered in a light ivory fabric, one chair has a couple of spots on the fabric, the remaining 7 are near new condition. Table measures 114 1/2 x 47 x 30 1/2. Leaf can be removed, which is 38" leaving a smaller table at 76" long.
