An authentic antique shade whose background ... morecolor is a deep turquoise blue at the top that fades into lighter turquoise until it becomes fully white at the fitter end. The shade is decorated with pink morning glories with lovely green leaves. The background color of this shade was“spun painted” so that the color starts out deep at the top of the shade and as the shade is spun around. The color fades until it is completely white at the fitter end of the shade. The technique used to paint the design on these antique shades is referred to as“over-painted transfer, meaning that the intended design was applied to the glass globe like a“decal” and then the artist painted on top of the transfer with the brilliant/lifelike colors. Finally the completely decorated shade was fired in a kiln. The shade retains its original brass top ring. Has a standard 4-inch fitter rim, stands 9-1/2 inch tall and is in mint condition. Antique Painted/Signed O& E.G Austria Salt/Pepper Shakers+3 Handle Sugar Bowl Up for auction is a lovely set of antique. Hand painted and signed matching salt and pepper shakers and a cool 3-handle sugar bowl. The shakers are marked O. E.G. Royal Austria. One is embossed the the number 2954-and it has it's cork inside the shaker, but otherwise these are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or breaks and gold gilt tops. The sugar bowl has 3 gold gilt handles and gold accented rim. This piece is from the same artist and is painted to match-it's marked R. S. Germany. All the pieces are signed by the artist"E. Ross" The sugar bowl is 2.25" tall and the shakers are 3" The painted flowers are all accented with raised white paint dots. The sugar bowl is also in excellent condition. Up for auction is a vintage pair of porcelain. 3 1/4 inch salt and pepper shakers. The background colors are a pale yellow and blue. You can't really see it in the photo's. They're decorated with hand painted, orange poppies. The tops are painted in thick, gold paint. The bottoms are signed by artist Luella Cooke. I've seen this artists' name before, not certain where, but I believe that she had painted porcelain for Limoges. These shakers come with cork stoppers. Antique P L Limoges France Salt Pepper Shakers Hand Painted Artist Signed Porcelain Description ~ this is a lovely set of Limoges porcelain salt& pepper shakers with their original cork stoppers. They are hand painted and signed by an amateur artist in pastel blue flowers that are outlined with green foliage and offset with small touches of yellow and red. The tops are painted in a full clean gold and the shape is of a simple and elegant rectangle. Both are marked with a green underglaze P L Limoges France. This is a La Porcelaine Limousine mark. Condition ~ is excellent to mint. This set is extremely clean. The decoration is full and bright. I have not removed the cork stoppers and do not know if they still hold any salt or pepper. The artist signature is on the edge of one shaker and the only possible faults would be a couple of tiny ... morepits from manufacturing in a couple of discrete areas. Mark ~ the mark on both shakers was the first factory mark used by La Porcelaine Limousine from 1905 into the 1930’s. This company was formed by P. Jouhanneaud and Joseph Redon in the old Redon factory and closed in 1938. The factory was later reopened by Alexandre Chastagner. Here is a beautiful pair of hand painted porcelain salt and pepper shakers. With sterling silver caps and bases, marked'STERLING' on upper ring on base, hard to see and hard to photograph, so please view picture. Both caps and bases need to be polished, if desired, both are a little tarnished. And yes the caps have small dings here and there, normal for use and age, and can be straighten if need be.These beautiful shakers are in excellent condition, NO CRACKS, NO CHIPS, and each one measures 5 1/2" tall to tip of cap, 2 1/2" dia. at wide part of body, and 2 3/8" dia. silver bases. Antique White Asian Floral Hand Painted Salt Shaker With Blues/Green& Gold This shaker is aprox 4" tall by 3" wide(not exact just an estimate) There is only a couple small spots where the paint may be wearing from age but this also could be how the artist wanted it to look not sure exactly as I could not find another shaker like it. One of my favorite shakers and will sell as a pair with the other Asian shaker so be sure to check that out!
