At this point, I have not been able to determine if they still make the Strasbourg pattern. Since this pattern has run for so long, I am not able to determine their exact age, unfortunately. It seems that the average(combined) weight of these shakers is around 2.76oz. NOTE: The shakers you are bidding on HAVE NOT been weighed by me. ABOUT THE SHAKERS YOU'RE BIDDING ON: As mentioned above. They are of the 1138(Strasbourg" pattern. There is no monogram or Gorham logo; the bottoms of the shakers simply say, GORHAM STERLING 1138" The"8" is stamped a bit more lightly than the rest of the letters and numbers; the stamping is consistent in that way(see photos 3, 4, and 5) There are no other pieces included in this auction, other than the two shakers described. DEFECTS: These shakers have been used. Other than the fact that they could use a tad more polishing than I was able to do. They are in good shape, overall(photos 1 and 2) The tops unscrew(photos 8, 9, and 10; photo 10 highlights the insides of the tops) and the insides are relatively clean, albeit there is still some tarnish inside(see photos 6 and 7) That said, there is a dent on one of them, roughly 1/3 of the way from the bottom(see photos 11 and 12- the last two photos) There is a tad bit of tarnish where the ding is(unable to photograph t

Black American"Mammy and Chef" Salt and Pepper Shakers These salt and pepper shakers are porcelain and were made in Japan in the early 1950's as indicated by the writing on the front of chef. This pair was originally sold in New York in 1954 and is in good condition given its age. They are approximately five inches tall. There are no visible chips. Cracks, or crazing.
