2 Vtg. Art Deco Flower Frogs - Nude Scarf Dancing Ladies - Figurines
2 Vintage Art Deco Nude Flower Frogs- Naked Ladies Scarf Dancing- They are white porcelain or ceramic- They could be one of each as they feel different in weight. Looks like they could be used for hat pin holders. One base reads ERPHILA FAYENCE GERMANY and the other one does not show a maker. They look a lot alike so I am selling them as a pair. One is about 6 3/4" tall x 3 3/4" long at the oval base- base is about 2 3/4" wide. One is about 6 1/4" tall x 3 1/4" long at the oval base- base is about 2 1/4" wide. 8 holes in each holder- They are old but just not sure how old[ I was told they were from the 1920's- You be the judge. NO BREAKS. CRACKS OR REPAIRS- THEY LOOK AND FEEL GOOD- ONE BASE SHOWS DARK MOLDED IN TO THE OVAL BASE AT THE EDGE. The pictures tell the story so please look at all of them. The cats are wonderfully done with fluid lines and great detail that show their muscle and bone structure. They are done in an amber drip glaze that gives them a great spotted look. They are a great vintage pair. Produced by Royal Haeger in the late 1940's and 1950's. They are both marked"Royal Haeger" on the bottom an the leopard facing forward is additionally marked"R313 USA" The leopard facing backwards has a small spot on the middle of the base missing its glaze and the forward facing leopard has a small glazing imperfection on the bottom corner as I have shown in pictures. We are offering this pair of Art Deco Pierrot figurines. One is playing a concertina and the other is pulling his costume wide. They are cast of a silver non-magnetic metal material– most likely pewter. The base of the concertina player is marked“Austria” and the number‘7557’ and the other is marked’12’ and a partial‘5’ They are 4 ½” and 4 ¾” tall and weigh about 11 oz each. The concertina player is slightly weighted toward his extended right arm. We had used‘earthquake putty’ to keep him standing. There are some casting pits from their making. The concertina player has a pit on the back of his left elbow and two pores near his feet. The other shows a casting crease at his neck.
