Cast Iron Finials PAGE 25H-2 Fence Post Top Vintage Steam Punk Lot Of 5 Nice set of 5 cast iron finials. Probably were used to mount atop rectangular fence posts, but could be used for paperweights or just displayed as vintage architechtural pieces. These are heavy cast iron. 7" tall, outer measurements as bottom are 2.5" X 3" and would fit a 1-7/8" X 2-1/4" square post. The oblong hole measures 1-3/4" by 2-1/4" and probably is a hole for a fence top rail. The small curve at the top is about 3/8" diameter and may have been to attach barbed wire? for extra security. Selling 5 in a lot. It's all I have and there won't be any more after they are gone. Weight of each one is almost 2.5 pounds! Will be shipped in a medium priority flat rate box. Almost 13 pounds of vintage cast iron.

As one is a bit larger than the other, and the decoration on the porcelain is not the same, but on two lamps in the same room, not on the same table, probably not one person in 100 would catch they are not a matched set. Both 2 1/8" tall, the larger porcelain bead has a floral motif and measures 15/16" in diameter. The other has the double happiness symbol and measures 7/8" in diameter. They have an oriental look to them. They are made of cast iron or some sort of other cast metal. Most the original gold paint still remains. None have broken places. You are bidding on 4(four) BEAUTIFUL LARGE VINTAGE DECORATIVE PINEAPPLE/ ACORN/ PINE CONE FINIALS. I’m not sure how old these are or what they were used on. There appears to be a makers mark but I do not know what the maker is(see picture) They all appear to be the same cast aluminum? a non magnetic Material) with steel? magnetic) 1” long x 3/8” diameter metal threaded rod. The overall length is approximately 7 1/4” and approximately 2 1/4” at their widest point. They appear to have the original brown paint over a reddish primer. They have no cracks or breaks anywhere. There is some surface rust on the threads and paint peeling throughout but overall they appear to be in solid operational condition. Great patina! One weighs just under 1 1/2 pounds. They would make an excellent addition to anyone’s collection or be used in any restoration ... moreproject. I’ll leave the cleaning and restoration to the professionals. Vintage Tudor Style Curtain Rod Holders, Finials, and Curtain Rings
These items- 2 pairs of curtain rod holders. 2 pairs of decorative curtain rod finials, 24 curtain rings are all made of heavy metal. They were removed from our Tudor style house in Pittsburgh when the house was updated sometime before 1954 and have been in storage ever since. The house was built in the late 1920's and these window accessories were probably installed first at that time. I have not tried to clean these items. Other than to blow off the dust. The items are basically black but have a metallic glimmer- kind of a bronzy steel color- see the photos. They are clearly made of iron or steel, as they are strongly attracted by a magnet. The finials have a round opening for the curtain rod with an inside diameter of 3/4 inch(see photo) The rectangular openings in the rings measure 3/4 inch by 1 inch. In the main photo and in the ... morelast photo. I have assembled the pieces as I think they should be for installation using a wooden 5/8" dowel for the curtain rod. I do not have the original curtain rods, but assume they were a hollow steel rod, similar in diameter to the dowel shown. The dowel is not included in this sale, as it's difficult to package for shipment but you can buy them at the local hardware or home improvement store or about $2.50 each for a 4' length. The dowel could be painted to make it look like the original metal pieces. Alternatively, you could use a 5/8" metal rod or tube. For an even more interesting look, a square metal"rod" could be used, though the ends would have to be modified to attach the finials which are made to fit over a round/cylindrical rod- see the photo. Each finial weighs 8oz. Each curtain rod holder weighs 10.5oz. Measures about 5 1/2inches high and would extend about 3 1/2 inches from the wall. Each curtain ring weighs 1oz. The buyer would need to supply the curtain rods as discussed above. Screws to mount the curtain rod holders to the wall and hooks to hang the curtain on the rings. For the right room.
