It makes my mouth hurt just to look at this thing. This was used long ago to pull teeth. It is made of steel as a magnet will stick to it. It is about 4 1/2" long. It looks like it has the letters CSC stamped over each other on it. I believe the name of the Co. is Central Surgical Co. It also had Germany stamped on the inside of the handle. see picture) It is pretty shiny yet and looks like it could come even brigther with some polishing. Antique Feick Bros tooth extractor puller good 19th century?
Antique tooth puller extractor tool marked Feick Bros and a stamped partial number 5 I think. On the handle grip. About 7.5 inches long, some minor surface rusting but not a lot, good shape. Feick Bros made surgical tools during the Civil War and Indian wars, but I don't know how long they continued, so I am just guessing 19th century.

It was more of a REFINED ART- made possible by the MECAHNICAL ADVANTAGE afforded by the design of this implement, and often assisted by the judicious placement of the practitioner's KNEE or FOOT on the sorry patient's chest, for leverage. One would hope that in well-experienced hands, this procedure would be accomplished with merciful swiftness- and done correctly on the first attempt. Can you imagine the SOUND this would have made? I contacted a few collectors online and no one has seen this example before. It features a rare Rotating Claw. Typically these only have a hinge that allows movement in one direction. This piece has DUAL MOVEMENT. Also unique to this piece is a prominant gripping aid. I have not ever seen this on a Tooth Extractor before. There are no markings on this piece. This large tooth key has plenty of age and dates to at least the mid 1800's. It's signed MAYSTON who was most likely the blacksmith that made it. The length is 16 1/2" and the handle is 14 1/4" long.
