Antique Victorian Era Ritter 12426 Dental Drill, Some Fun Steampunk Projects
This unit appears complete except for the wall swing-arm and drill bits. I did plug it in and pushed the foot pedal- the first couple times I got a hum and a fraction of a second of spin on the actual drill. but after that. Nothing- not even a hum. Point being that while it's not working, it may not be a significant project to get it working(though it also could be a big project) The whole system is connected with no obvious easy way to disassemble- and the entire system weighs in at about 30 pounds. The patent dates on it range from 1895 to 1902, though the actual production date could yet be a few years later than 1902(I have no idea how long this exact model was in use before it was updated with additional patents) For being about 110 years old, it's in pretty reasonable condition. OLD Antique Electric Motor for Ritter Air Compressor - dental instrument
This motor runs(the third photo shows it running) But it will not start spinning on its own: you have to turn it on. Then twirl the shaft manually to get it going. After that. It runs fine and is very smooth, with no suspicious noises or smells. the brushes barely even spark when the motor is running. It is only 1/6HP and measures 9 1/2" long. 8" wide, and 8 1/2" tall. It does have some paint loss from age. Please allow for it to ship to your street address. Not a p.o. box.

For sale is an Antique Ritter Intra-Oral Stereoscope in excellent working condition. This device was used to check Dental exrays by placing them in the viewer. The lens has an adjustable turn wheel to adjust the lenses in and out. I put two glass slides in to show the view(picture#12) I replaced the rotten cord to make it safe when we bought years ago.
