The belt might need to be replaced as it is old. The motor on the condenser is a Bodine. ANTIQUE MOTHER OF PEARL SILVER DENTAL LIP DEPRESSOR 19th Century - DENTAL TOOLS
We are pleased to offer an antique mother of pearl dental lip depressor. Measuring 10.5 cm(4 and 1/8” Many collectors have seen J.D. Chevalier’s large adult lip depressor from the first half of the 1800’s. I believe this one to be for a child because of its smaller size. The standard adult depressor is cumbersome and would have been too large for a small child's lip. The manufacture of smaller tools for children is well known in 19 th century. Even when children were the target market as seen in sewing collectables where tiny scissors, thimbles and sewing sets where made for smaller hands. There are no makers or origin marks at all on the metal. Although it does not look as old as Chevalier's production. I am not an expert in dental collectables, but a local museum did agree that it looked just like a smaller version of their antique ... morelip depressors(they had not seen a small one before) I have never seen another in the past 15 years of active worldwide searching and I consider this an extremely rare item. The specialist collector will appreciate that opportunities to acquire these unusual items do not come around as often as it did in the past. Hopefully it will make some collector's day! From a local estate of a second generation dentist who retired in 1977. I think these would have been his fathers dentistry tools seeing that there is a tool in this lot with a patent date of 1894. They are terrifying and vicious looking. They are in relatively good shape. They all open and close. Not all rusted shut. We have up for auction seven bone handle antique dental tools. This is being relisted because of the last buyer never paid. All the handles are made of bone or some other material. They are not plastic or artificial material. They are all fresh from a local estate sale. The main tool is a antique tooth extractor. It is a little over 6” long and the T handle is about 3 ½” The working end is metal and has a spring loaded lever mechanism near the bottom. When this lever is pushed it enables the end to rotate and lock into another position. The“T” handle does have two small nicks one one end. There are 7 tools in all. Six of the tools are picks and scrapers. Two of those 6 are brass.One of them is brass and hollow. This looks like it held a small piece in the end( maybe bits or smaller picks) The metal tool ends are a little rusty or corroded. ... moreOne piece is missing the brass ferrule near the end. I was told these date from about the middle of the 1800’s or earlier. None of these tools have been cleaned or modified. Please see all the photos for more detail. Lot of antique dental tinker blacksmith hand tools - bellows foot pump knife awl
Lot of antique tools. A bellows/foot pump. A small knife, an awl and a melting/mold making trough. These came from the estate of a dentist in Massachusetts and were used to make dentures a long, long time ago. They were found along with some other antique dental equipment, but could have also been used for any tinkering or blacksmith type mold-making work. There are no markings on any of these, so I do not know by whom, where or how long ago they were made. Maybe 1800s, or even older? Lots of wear, patina, signs of use and various repairs over the years, but everything is still functional. Absolutely wonderful, unique lot. Will be very carefully packed.

There are 4 different manufactures marks, the 1st is a logo with the initials SWS, the 2nd is H. C. KERN of Philadelphia, the 3rd& 4th are by J. BIDDLE of New York, the 5th is by LUKENS& CO. of Philadelphia, and the last one is by A. W. SEE& CO. They all show a slight bit of wear to the Chrome finish around the edges of the handles but overall they are all in very good condition for their age. When I found this set there was also a book entitled TEXTBOOK OF OPERATIVE DENTISTRY published ... morein 1917 that showed photos of tools just like these- I have since sold that book but it could still be used for a reference source should you want to learn more about these tools. Antique Walnut Dentist Case with Dental Tools and Red Cross Paper in it World War I Piece? Note: All items in our store include NO sales tax to our US customers! Here is a great piece for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an auction Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! Something you do not come across every day. An old walnut dental case that has trays in it for holding various dental tools. And there are tools and a drill that come in this package. The wood case is in pretty good shape. Looks like it was dropped on the right top corner at some point. Wood is cracked there and some chips of wood out of the case. Very ornate handle and bracket for carrying the case on the top of it. Latches are on the case and the swivel wood front is still securely attached to the case by its' hinges. The drill is made by ... morethe SS White Dental Mfg Company and has a patent date of December 1892 on it. Bakelite handle on the drill. Many bits come in the case. Another great piece is the DeTrey's Synthetic Co piece with the wood handle and bakelite end. Some sort of probe or way to hold tongue out of way Not sure what the strap with the two bakelite end pieces was for, but quite different. Some of the other tools have the maker names on them as well. We think this piece may be from World War I with the Red Cross paper that lines one of the trays. You be the judge before acquiring. The Antique Dental Case is 6.75" tall. By 14-1/8" across, by 9.75" wide. Still has the key with it, but lock is definitely a little tricky, so requires a little extra help to open. This is a once of a kind change to a own an entire lot of rare turn of the century dental tools fresh from an estate. Some of these have very old patent dates and a few of the trays look like solid brass or maybe copper. Unsorted and sold as a lot so you should be able to make a huge profit splitting these up. Antique 19th Century Dental Tools - Ebony Handles - S.S. White - Civil War Era
Here's a group of 8 antique S.S. White dental tools with ebony handles(ca. 1860-1880) These are an estate find and haven't seen the light of day in decades! The end pieces unscrew. And are thus interchangeable with all of the handles. With a set of ends, a dentist would have only needed a few of these handles to do his work efficiently. Note that three of these have slightly longer handles with a button end, and the other 5 are shorter and come to a point. The longer handles measure 4 3/4" not including the end pieces. These three are marked with the'SWS' trademark and are stamped"The S.S. White Dental Mfg. Co. The shorter handles are 4 1/2" not including the end piece. These 5 are not marked. All of the end pieces are marked, some with the'SWS' mark and others simply with numbers. These are in very ... moregood condition, but aren't"flawless. Two of the handles have minor non-integral cracks(see last 2 photos)
