Cast Iron EARLY Dentist Chair! Adjustable Gears! Antique Steampunk industrial
Up for sale is this unbelievable very early dental chair. Probably from right around the turn of the century. The chair is incredibly heavy and solid. The adjustment gears still work and the seat can go from 90 deg to all the way back where your feet will be above your head. The metal has a beautiful patina with some paint. There is a base foot attachment that connects and has an SWS monogram. Everything is cast iron except of the two round knobs on the back, the floor board of the footrest, and the seats The uphosltry is in VERY rough condition. The leather seat is essentially wrecked and there is a hole in the back rest. The head rest leather is pretty good. The gears which control the height of the head rest are tight. they may loosen with some WD40. But I didn't want to change the chair at all. The floor board of the footrest is wood ... morecovered with some material. that material is pretty chewed up and definitely got wet at some point. The wood still looks good. The hydraulic lift makes noise and is free, but I can't seem to get the chair to go down to it's lowest height. There are two detachable arms, one is broken at the attachment point and to be fixed would need to be welded back together. This chair is gorgeous and very early. It's in rough condition. Thus the price, but simply replacing the leather would make the chair useable and a great addition to your home. This cannot be shipped. it probably weighs around 200-250 lbs. I'll drive up to an hour from 07456 to meet you or drop this off. Though if you live further, I may be willing to make the trip. Please contact me with any questions! Leather is worn, but there are no holes or rips. Chair reclines, but have not checked the hight adjustment. Civil War Era Antique Walker Browne Oak Portable Dentist Chair 1882 Barber Koken
The Skeleton Key is very proud to offer for sale an original 1882 Walker Browne Portable Dentist Chair made by the Walker Browne Dental Company. This chair was made for the traveling dentist and was carried from town to town in a horse and carriage. Chair is in exceptional condition with minor nicks and scratches here and there. There is one repair that I can see on the left where the recline bar adjustment attaches to the back rest. A dowel was placed in the screw hole for reinforcement. It has no breaks or cracks. All original hand forged iron bolts. Nuts and hardware. Not sure if leather seat is a replacement and if so how long ago it was done. Has wrinkles from use so, not really sure. Velvet on head rest is in pristine condition with some light wear on the lower right and left area. Two versions of the chair were available, the plain ... moreoak version and the antique oak version with metal parts. This is the antique oak version. I sat on it(130 lbs) and it was solid as a rock All I did was bring the wood back to life with some orange oil polish. Please see the old tin type I found of the chair in use and two old newspaper advertisements for the chair as well. I have done extensive research on this chair and cannot find another example anywhere in any other shop or site. Not even at the Dental Museum in South Carolina. They have two similar examples in their collection, but not the Walker Browne. The first technologically driven barber chair was patented by Koken in 1878, this chair has a patent date of 1882 so it is a very early example of very innovative designs and engineering including 7 different levels of height adjustment, three angles of reclining, adjustable head and foot rest, and of course the ability to fold up. Antique Vintage Dentist Chair and Equipment
The former owner of my home was a retired dentist who practiced from 1929-1980. And when he remodeled his dental offices in the 1950's or 60's he brought this equipement home to his basement. According to his wife, he set the lab up in the basement and used to work on his friend's teeth during their game nights. My son has turned the drills on, air compressor, overhead light and run the electric motor driven hydraulic chair up and down. An 80 year old retired dentist friend of ours says he feels the equipment dates to the 1940's with the chair possibly being much older as the latest patent date says"1926" on the stand. Chairs leather is possibly original in great condition with no cracks or tears. All of the equipment is Ritter and still has tags, faceplates, serial numbers etc. x/ray unit is"Victor" It ... moreis dusty and aged. The basement is dry and was"finished" with knotty pine paneling and floor tile in the 1950's so the equipmet has had good living conditions. If you purchase it you will have to remove it from my basement. Nice looking old manual dental/ medical/surgical chair with adjustable seat height. Seat back angle and multi adjusting head rest. Looks like a 20's or earlier design to me but may have been made into the 30's or 40's. I'm sure arm rests were at least an option but I got this without them. Could be useful in a mancave or salon or to a barber. Weighs about 60 pounds and does not have a large footprint so usable in the home unlike the regular dental chairs which weigh 250 or more. I don't know who made it but the quality is on par with Ritter, SS White or American Optical. Frame is cast iron with some steel and aluminum. No shipping on this but local SF bay area delivery possible for a reasonable fee.

You are bidding on an antique dentist chair made by the W. D. Allison Company in Indianapolis. Indiana. My best guess for the date of manufacture would be from the 1890s to early 1900s. There is a serial number G725 marked on nameplate. The chair is in very good condition, with only minor nicks and scratches to the wood finish, the black paint is worn off on some of the metal surfaces, and there are no rips or cracks in the leather seat or head-rest. The chair measures 48 inches with head-brace attached and 25 inches wide across the arms. The seat measures 17 inches from the ground at its lowest position and can be raised an additional 5 inches. The head-rest and arms will be removed for shipping but are very easy to reattach. Antique Koken Barber / Dentist Chair Leather & Oak 1910s Era - Early Rare Style!
Presenting an Antique Koken Barber/ Dentist Chair w/ Footrest. 1910s Era- Early, Rare Style! This 1910-era bar ber's chair was crafted by the Koken Barbers Supply Company. It features a tufted leather headrest. Beautifully upholstered leather seat, seat back and leg-rest, padded leather arms, a handmade solid thick Oak frame, and cast-iron footrest. This is an incredibly solid chair(heavy! and the seat is well-cushioned and very comfortable. The tufted headrest is adjustable for added comfort. It includes(4) casters(not pictured. But will be attached for shipment) which allow the chair to recline. The camel-colored leather is in great condition. The original footrest is included(but detached) and depicts the Koken logo framed in an ornate cast-iron design. The Oak frame features several small embellishments. Including small corbels at ... morethe four corners of the seat and a scroll cut edge on either side of the chair. The wood frame could use just a bit of oil to celebrate its age and character. Or it could be restored to its former glory through refinishing. This well-made piece of history would make an incredible statement piece in any seating area. Or a handsome accent in any eclectic space. The chair is 35" high with the headrest in its lowest position. It is approx. 39-1/2" high with the headrest raised fully. It's 30" wide. Including the chair's hardware, and 29" deep, not including the footrest. The seat is 16" high. The footrest measures 16"w x 11"d x 3-1/8" high off ground. Vintage 1980's Dentist Chair Good Working Condition Gaming Chair Man Cave Decor!
Up for bid we have this vintage Dentist chair. It dates I believe to the early 1980's. It is in good condition. There is a small tear to the leather on the edge of one of the arms. The chair raises and lowers with a foot pedal. It does not have any of the dental tools with it. This could make a really neat gaming chair or eclectic reading chair. All questions welcomed. This item will have to be for local pick up only as it weighs a ton.

Antique Barber/Dentist Chair - Extremely Rare Style
I bought this chair about three years ago because I had never seen one like it before(and neither did the antique dealer I bought it from. The manufacturer is listed as Art-Aseptible Furniture Co. and I'm not totally sure of the date. But the type of base, fabric, and style fits this description most closely: Many of the wooden barber chairs of the early1800s were elaborately carved with ornate designs and decorative plush upholstery. In the1850s the barber chair industry began to take shape as companies started to make chairs specifically for barber shops. The early chairs of this period were usually crafted from wood had offered the following features: Taller than a regular household chair, A headrest in a fixed position, Reclined several degrees, A type of foot rest or stool" The headrest is adjustable. However. It has the ORIGINAL ... morefabric. Nail head trim, filling, and ALL HARDWARE is intact and functional! I used it in a sitting room(with a small pillow) and it's actually pretty comfy for me. The chrome is in great shape, the super-cool claw-style arms are in excellent condition, and while it could use a little TLC, it's incredibly sturdy and in amazing shape. The fabric*does* have a couple holes(see pics) so I had an estimate for reupholstering done. And the high-end of the estimate was $1600(like, if I chose the most expensive fabric) I elected not to do it because the original fabric is really beautiful and after hours of searching in different upholstery shops, and several more hours online, I couldn't find anything to do it justice. Ultimately, I decided that(for me) the original fabric was more impressive than perfection would be. SHIPPING NOTE: The chair would have to be shipped freight(I use UPS. and run about $350 I'm*guessing* so at the conclusion of the sale, once I have your address, I will get an exact cost and ship it out once payment is complete.
