Antique Dental Crown Set The Dentist Supply Co Nbr 10 Assortment Trubyte Crowns
Never saw a set of these before and they came out of a long time local collection. This is a Circa 1915 No 10 Assortment of Trubyte Crowns that were made by The Dentists Supply Company of New York City. They are in the original case which consists of 2 layers or tiers of crowns to be used by the dentist. By my calculations the Case is about 90 percent complete along with having 4 of 7 of the'crown posts' A wonderful dental display item and from a company that was founded in 1899 and still exists but under a different name I believe. Buffalo, N.Y. It is about 22"s tall which includes the height of the tallest valve,weights in at 20 lbs. Parts are steel and cast iron some copper/brass also. It is in good condition has surface/medium rust throughout. No rot or loss of metal from rust. Metal is also tarnished,dirty, has wear& scratches throughout. This is an original antique dental advertising poster printed circa 1915-1920. It is printed on a linen backed paper and has thin metal strips across the top& bottom edges. The poster measures 27 1/2 inches high X 16 inches wide and is in fair/ poor condition due to several folds. Bends& creases; small scattered stains& soiling; a small tear at the top; small tears on the edges; the top metal strip is rusted and has snapped on the right side; and a damp stain on the right side of the entire poster. The item for sale is a an antique box of dental polishing wheels with its original contents(9 of 12 wheels) and directions made circa 1920- 1930. The box top reads"1 Dozen Black's Polishing Wheels for Polishing Porcelain and Gold. Black Dental Supply Co. 908 N.E. 2nd Ave. Miami 32. Fla. The other sides of the box are blank. The box measures 2 1/2 inches long X 1 3/8 inches wide X 3/4 inch high. The box is in good/ fair condition due to soiling. And a stains on the lower right corner of the box top. The catalog has different classes& forms of artificial teeth. The catalog measures measures 10 X 5 inches. The catalog is in good condition aside from wear to the spine edge; scratches on the cover; bends in the lower corner of the front cover; the tip of the lower inner corner is bumped& slightly creased throughout; and minor pencil marks in the contents. 1890-1905 Extraction Forceps E.W Allendorph Western Dental Supply Kansas City
A nice pair of forceps from EW Allendorph. The most recent mention of this manufacturer I could find is from 1905 and mentions them having failed in business.These are early handle versions indicative of 19th century form. Although the curved handle(bowed handle w/thumb loop) can be found through the early 20th century. This type with the arched handle seems to have been phased out after the turn of the last ventury. Its hard to date these, but this seems to be a fair assessment based on comparables. Has some corrosion as seen in pictures, but is in nice overall condition. All of the dental forceps I have listed came from the personal"doctors bag" of a Dr. G Nordlander(bag pictured) that we purchased over 20 years ago along with many other dental items. Everything in the bag and his many other dental items were late 19th century ... moreand early 20th century. The bag is not included in this sale.
