Here is a great piece for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an auction Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! Something you do not come across every day. An old walnut dental case that has trays in it for holding various dental tools. And there are tools and a drill that come in this package. The wood case is in pretty good shape. Looks like it was dropped on the right top corner at some point. Wood is cracked there and some chips of wood out of the case. Very ornate handle and bracket for carrying the case on the top of it. Latches are on the case and the swivel wood front is still securely attached to the case by its' hinges. The drill is made by ... morethe SS White Dental Mfg Company and has a patent date of December 1892 on it. Bakelite handle on the drill. Many bits come in the case. Another great piece is the DeTrey's Synthetic Co piece with the wood handle and bakelite end. Some sort of probe or way to hold tongue out of way Not sure what the strap with the two bakelite end pieces was for, but quite different. Some of the other tools have the maker names on them as well. We think this piece may be from World War I with the Red Cross paper that lines one of the trays. You be the judge before acquiring. The Antique Dental Case is 6.75" tall. By 14-1/8" across, by 9.75" wide. Still has the key with it, but lock is definitely a little tricky, so requires a little extra help to open. Some of them are in the original packages that are marked"Cutwell Burs" on one side and"Ransom and Randolph" on the other, most of these packages have been opened with some of the contents missing, others are loose inside the box with no boxes. Then others are inside plastic cases, the sizes look like they vary in width and length. These items are inside a box that is wooden and painted green, the inside of the box has red paint on the underneath part of the lid. The lid also has a handle attached to the front that looks like it maybe made of bakelite. The lid of the box has some black residue built up on it however I have not made any attempt to clean it. Worked with, played with, and then stored in a basement, attic, or garage. Nothing I sell is mint. 99% of what’s listed comes from yard sales, auctions, flea markets, and antique shops.
