Antique 1900's Dental Stand Black Glass Iron Medical Table Vintage Industrial
Listing this evening a great old dentist's office item from the early 1900's. This particular stand was removed from a dentists office when he acquired a new"stainless steel" unit from his dental supply salesman sometime around 1955. The stand is 33 1/2" tall. 16 1/2" wide(at the widest point) and 14 1/4" deep. The frame is iron with glossy black paint. The shelves are made of clear thick plate glass that has had multiple coats of black paint applied to the underside of the glass. From a distance it would appear that the shelves are made of black glass. The condition of the iron is excellent(no breaks or rust) The condition of the glass is variable. The top shelf(16" x 14" has the most wear because it was obviously used more often. There are many scratches on the top shelf as well as some chips on ... morethe edges(see pics) The two lower shelves(12" x 10" are in better condition(less scratches and only 2 chips on the back of the lowest shelf) These stands don't come around very often because they were often thrown out when those new stainless steel stands appeared. This instrument with a early parrot like head and jaws that have sharp double pointed fangs and serated grooves for grasping the tooth. Rare Antique Medical/ Dental Surgeon's Folding Tool ca.1860 This is a rare folding surgical or. I believe, dental tool made with the earliest synthetic handle material invented. Goodyear patented the first"hard rubber" synthetic plastic on May 6, 1851. This material was originally black but it ages to various shades of olive brown. The handle of this tool is cast from that type of material with small bumps on the sides reminiscent of a style of carved pearl handles found on early 19th Century English fruit knives. The tool is 3 7/8" long. The"birdseye" pins are brass and have small brass washers. Both blades show much evidence of hand forging and filing to shape. Notably, the ends of both iron blades have a tiny"laid on" piece of steel forged onto the areas where cutting edges were to be formed, much ... moreas blacksmiths added an expensive steel strip to the edge of forged iron axe heads. There are no maker's marks anywhere. The curved blade is, I believe, a gum lancet and the straight edge a scalpel. The lancet has a stop-pin to prevent it from opening more than 180 degrees; the scalpel never had a stop pin but rests on a pin in the center of the handle when closed. There are no springs or locks. This tool is certainly not as sophisticated as those made by professional cutlers and surgical instrument makers later in the 19th Century and it is amazing that it has survived to the present day. $5.00 S&H. Shows really great. A faboulous piece to display in your Mid Century Industrial Uran Modern collection. The paint is wore on the base. Metal caps on the legs have scuffs and dents. The top is leather. It has crazing and some small cracks. See photos please. It has a cast metal base with the original castors. The seat height is ajustable. I have not cleaned oiled or waxed this. From the Chidsey& Partridge Co. Boston. The set looks to be complete. They are in their original wood hinged box with leather covering in good condition. Even though there is an extra slot in the case. I can't see how another set could fit. I have no idea what these are used for. I am assuming dentistry work because of where I got them from. Presented is a complete set of 12 dental magazines published in the year 1927. The Dental Cosmos. A Monthly Record of Dental Science, Devoted to the Interests of the Profession. The magazine subscription belonged to Dr. L.J. Swanbom. Scottsbluff, Nebr. as typed on the front of each issue. The magazines were carefully placed in a cloth covered binder. Rare to find a complete set for dental and medical science. The advertising in each magazine is outstanding! You will find articles of interest and antique photos as well as several pages of advertising for dental equipment, supplies, denture fixatives, toothpaste, scrolled lettering and detailed graphics. The magazine issues appear to be complete, although I did find at least one page that had one half of the page missing(see photo) There is a slight amount of folded corners and rust looking ... morestains. There is some writing in pencil on some of the front pages. All front and back covers are complete. We have up for auction seven bone handle antique dental tools. This is being relisted because of the last buyer never paid. All the handles are made of bone or some other material. They are not plastic or artificial material. They are all fresh from a local estate sale. The main tool is a antique tooth extractor. It is a little over 6” long and the T handle is about 3 ½” The working end is metal and has a spring loaded lever mechanism near the bottom. When this lever is pushed it enables the end to rotate and lock into another position. The“T” handle does have two small nicks one one end. There are 7 tools in all. Six of the tools are picks and scrapers. Two of those 6 are brass.One of them is brass and hollow. This looks like it held a small piece in the end( maybe bits or smaller picks) The metal tool ends are a little rusty or corroded. ... moreOne piece is missing the brass ferrule near the end. From a little bit of research I found the flat triangular piece to be from a Dental Denture mold and the other piece I am not sure. The cup shaped piece has a hole center bottom. Both are marked. Rare Antique Dental-Medical Case with 3 Outstanding Instruments. I do not know the actual use of these Instruments. Some have suggested to me possible Cheek/Tongue/Lip Retractors. All three Instruments are Spring-Loaded and seem to work. They are Presented in a Lovely Leather-like Case with Gold-Colored Satin and Velvet Inside. The case seems to be missing an original hook for closure but still closes and catches. There is some sort of stamp on bottom of case.see Photo. Case measures 9 1/2" x 4" x 1" height.

Antique vtg articulating Burton Mfg. Co. medical dental light fixture lamp 1932
Cool dental lamp made by the Burton Manufacturing Company. The patent was approved in 1932 so it's an early piece but still 20th century. The lamp is made up of various materials. The main body is metal and parts are faux painted to look like wood. The handle at the top is actually wood. The hexagonal rod is chrome plated brass while the top housing is chrome plated steel and is quite rusty. The black shade is actually bakelite and is undamaged. Lastly there's a opal glass cover that clips over the light bulb. That piece is also undamaged. This light needs some serious cleaning but the socket accepts a regular standard base light bulb so this would make an AMAZING lamp! I will be taking this apart as much as I can so the wires will be cut. The last 4 photos are the patent drawings from Google. I am not obviously offering those drawings.

These came out of a building that had several dentists in it from the early 1900's to the 1950's. This is a set of 16 teeth(they look like the top row of teeth to me) in the original box. These were probably training models used for study. But they would also make a great display piece. Each tooth stands about 1 3/4 in. tall. The teeth are in excellent. Near-mint condition with no obvious damages or discolorations. The box has some light wear and discolorations, but it's still intact and very sturdy. This is a stylish piece of medical equipment. This is a perfect example of the way things aren't made how they used to be. This would be a great addition to any medical collection. The machine is complete and includes both of the instrument trays. This piece is in excellent condition. The chrome is less than perfect. But it still looks sharp and displays well. Some of the rubber gasket has chipped away around the edges, but not enough to affect function. We tested it and found it to be in perfect working order. Lot of of antique dental doctor tools steampunk medical quackery estate unsorted
This is a once of a kind change to a own an entire lot of rare turn of the century dental tools fresh from an estate. Some of these have very old patent dates and a few of the trays look like solid brass or maybe copper. Unsorted and sold as a lot so you should be able to make a huge profit splitting these up. I have seen the casting machine alone sell for 100. I just don't have the time to sell them individually right now. Also great for steampunk art or upcycle lot. Vintage or Antique Dug DENTAL Iridescent BOTTLE no lid Medical Dentist
This is an old. Dug bottle with lovely iridescence. It has no lid and stands 3 3/8 inches tall. Width is 2 1/4 inches. There are nicely embossed letters on the front with an attractive, embossed border on front and back. No name is found. Great display bottle! CONDITION: Please be sure to see all the pictures as they are part of the description& condition. Scratches and wear- it is a dug bottle. Dirt and debris is inside the bottle. Along the bottom edge is about a 5 mm chip(see picture#6. Left side) Along the bottle opening, the glass is very rough and grainy as though it was left unfinished(visible in several of the pictures) Just below this, going down into the neck of the bottle is about a 4 mm chip(see picture#8) It's hard to imagine how it got a chip there, so perhaps it was made during production. Bottle has lovely iridescence ... moreand nice embossing. No lid. Even with the age-related scratches and wear, still a beautiful little bottle.
