The end with a adjustible lever for loosening and tightening the blade. Saw has original blade. Instrument has a wonderful original patina and shows old medical history. Very good condition. Antique dental instrument mirror with bone handle
Bone-handled dental instrument believed to be from the turn of the century. There are no maker marks on this at all. Condition is excellent. You can see some wear around the edges of the face of the mirror and around the place where the mirror and the handle connect(see photos) It's a delicate and beautiful piece. Measures 4 3/4 inches long and the mirror is 1 inch across.

This instrument with a early parrot like head and jaws that have sharp double pointed fangs and serated grooves for grasping the tooth. Once it is filled, simply press hard on the tip of the pen, and a'shot' is injected. Believed to be used for amalgam, not anesthetic, simply because the amount of pressure on the tip of the pen is hard/heavy before the substance is injected. OLD Antique Electric Motor for Ritter Air Compressor - dental instrument
This motor runs(the third photo shows it running) But it will not start spinning on its own: you have to turn it on. Then twirl the shaft manually to get it going. After that. It runs fine and is very smooth, with no suspicious noises or smells. the brushes barely even spark when the motor is running. It is only 1/6HP and measures 9 1/2" long. 8" wide, and 8 1/2" tall. Antique Snowden Dental Instrument Tooth Extractor Pullers Forceps 19th Century?
A pair of antique dental tooth extraction pliers marked"SNOWDEN/ PHILA" Tool measures just under 7 inches long. It appears that various members of the Snowden family were engaged in the business of dental and surgical instrument manufacture in Philadelphia. Pennsylvania during a large portion of the 1800s, but I have no other detailed information on this particular tool. The tool was never plated and has what appear to be manually engraved grips on the handles, so this appears to be a relatively early pair of tooth extractors. Tool is used. But in very good condition and operates smoothly. There is some darkening of the metal, but no rust is present. The pictures show the condition of the item.
