The White motto was“Excellence in Design and Craftsmanship Since 1881” The South's Oldest Makers of Fine Furniture.Since 1881" The plant closed in 1993. Soon after the White family sold the Company. This bedroom suite was found. Still in the original cartons, in a warehouse in Mebane. It was never sold or used. We have removed the boxes from all of the pieces except for the tri-fold mirror(in the brown box behind the dresser and bed in the pictures) We were afraid it would get broken. Included are a large 6 drawer Bombe Chest; a 9 drawer Triple Dresser; a Tri Fold Mirror; a Queen Size wood panel Headboard; and two(2) Night Stands. White's suggested retail price for this beautiful ... moresuite was over $12.000. The finish color appears as a hand-rubbed slightly mottled light cream color. Pictures of the chest on chest. The dresser top with the ash tray on it and the headboard behind it, and the small section of the dresser top with the"quarter" coin are a little lighter, but close to the true color of the bedroom suite. Color in some of the pictures was distorted by"warm" overhead flourescent lighting in our showroom. All 6 pieces are in excellent- like new condition except for 2 tiny. Almost invisible, factory scratches on the dresser top. The scratches were found when we opened the carton. They were factory repaired. But due to age and normal shrinkage, they are visible. The scratches are so small that w e had a hard time making a picture that would show them. The picture included in this listing makes the scratches look worse than they are. Both scratches can be easily touched up by a furniture restorer or artist or they can be covered with a scarf. Offered is a very beautiful one owner Danish queen platform bed in fantastic striped teak veneer with solid rosewood trim on the leading edges. Quite stunning visually. This bed was bought locally at Santa Barbara's sole Danish import furniture store that was around from the 1960's through the late 1980's and built in the Santa Barbara home it was removed from and is now offered for sale. The headboard measures 102 inches. The floating nightstands measure 12.75 inches deep by 8 inches tall. The depth of the bed from headboard to front is 83 inches. The bed is in very nice original shape. The slats are original as well as all hardware. There is a slight color variation on the nightstand drawers most likely due to light sun fading on that side over the years. Various knicks are present but overall it is in superb condition. And ... morethe headboard is near mint as well as the nighstands and drawers. The bed breaks down easily and is very easy to put together. It has locking frame inserts and it can be put together in about 10 minutes. Vtg/Antique XL QUEEN/KING Carved Mahogany Rococo Hollywood Regency Headboard
Stunningly beautiful. Estate-scale, heavily and masterfully carved in the old-world tradition, this Rococo/Hollywood Regency style headboard is fit for a King or a Queen! Well, a King- or Queen-sized bed, anyway. Measures 74W x 54H x2D(in inches) slightly larger than a Queen size, which is how I'd always used it, and slightly smaller than a King. I'm downsizing my personal antiques collection. Amassed over 4 generations and acquired both in Europe and the US. This piece is from my grandmother's estate, and I believe it is of pre-war French provenance, although I am unsure how long before the war she purchased it? Judging by the nonstandard size, I'd say at LEAST the 1920s. Wood appears to be a dark, rich mahogany, and is in good condition. There have been brackets added to the bottom so a Queen sized bed frame could be attached; ... morethese are not visible when the headboard is in use, and could very easily be removed if you did not want to use them. An interior designer friend from Manhattan had me considering painting this bright white and using it as a focal point in a bedroom with otherwise modern furniture and vibrant color on the walls/floors/fixtures. Which sounded really chic! I didn't have the heart to bring about such a radical transformation on something that's been in my family so long, but maybe you will! In any case.
