About the Sannemann Danish Bed RARE 1960's mid century modern queen sized bed with floating end tables produced by Sannemann of Denmark. In good overall condition. Though it is vintage and shows some wear due to the age; please note the pictures to see a few nicks to the veneer and an area on both night stands where some small patch work had been preformed by a previous owner. There is an original single cam lock missing at a joint where two cam locks belong. Additionally, there is an original single foot brace(with dowels) that is also missing. Danish Teak/Rosewood Queen Platform Bed Floating Nightstands Denmark Bedroom EX!
Offered is a very beautiful one owner Danish queen platform bed in fantastic striped teak veneer with solid rosewood trim on the leading edges. Quite stunning visually. This bed was bought locally at Santa Barbara's sole Danish import furniture store that was around from the 1960's through the late 1980's and built in the Santa Barbara home it was removed from and is now offered for sale. The headboard measures 102 inches. The floating nightstands measure 12.75 inches deep by 8 inches tall. The depth of the bed from headboard to front is 83 inches. The bed is in very nice original shape. The slats are original as well as all hardware. There is a slight color variation on the nightstand drawers most likely due to light sun fading on that side over the years. Various knicks are present but overall it is in superb condition. And ... morethe headboard is near mint as well as the nighstands and drawers. The bed breaks down easily and is very easy to put together. It has locking frame inserts and it can be put together in about 10 minutes. I would prefer local pick up here in Santa Barbara and I am willing to store it until buyer can arrange to come by and pick up as long as payment is made. Payment due within 3 days of auction end. No stains or damage. it's about a 6' foam queen mattress. Pretty firm. Back board measures 30" tall from the floor to the top. Very simple to assemble. Took me 15 min to put it together for the picture. I put the base board on backwards. Marked Made in Denmark. This is the first time I've offered an item like this. When the previous owner took the bed apart they slightly damaged the inside wood of the headboard where the screws that clip the headboard together go in- This is only visible when the headboard is taken apart and is very sturdy when assembled. There is a slightly raised bump from this on the lower part of the headboard from this repair(see pictures 9 and 10) however it is below the slats so it is never visible, especially with the mattress is place. This repair does not compromise the structural integrity of the bed. When assembled the bed measures 28.75" tall by 121.25" wide. The left nightstand has a very small ding near the drawer which is mostly concealed by the drawer when it is closed and is not distracting but should be mentioned(pictures 9 and 10 show it open and closed) The headboard measures 25.5" tall and is 124" wide from side to side. The side rails are 14.5" tall. The total depth from the front of the bed to the back is approximately 89" The surface of the nightstands sits 16" tall. Offered for your consideration is a beautiful vintage mid century modern Danish style teak platform bed. This bed features exquisite finger joinery and detail. Look at the sculptural sides! King size bed with floating nightstands. Nightstands feature a drawer with brass pulls and an open shelf. Marked: Made in Singapore on the back of the headboard. CONDITION: Great vintage condition with normal wear due to age and use. Some scratches and dings to wood due to age and use. Some water marks on top edge of headboard and nightstands.
