This piece came to us from a local estate and has ... morebeen lovingly cared for since it was built and purchased in 1970's. Most of us are familiar with the Henkel Harris quality. But if you are not, it would be worth your time to Google them and check it out. This bed was built to rigorous quality standards and includes beautiful turned posts, brass bolt covers on the footboard, and the necessary center rail for optimum support in any king bed. The inside measurements are 78" wide and 82" long, and the outside measures 81" wide and 89" long. The posts are 66" tall. Henkel Harris closed in late 2012, and this bed was not as prevalent as those with taller posts. If you want quality and can't use the 7 foot posts, then this bed is perfect for you. The number 7/0 appears along with the item number and I believe this to be a California King Headboard. There are several holes drilled so the bed can be used as California King or a regular King. The headboard can be found on page#275 in the 96th edition of the Ethan Allen Treasury of American Home Interiors. Please note this item(11-5641) was offered by Ethan Allen as the headboard only. The same bed was sold with the footboard and side rails(item# 5654) Ethan Allen describes their Georgian Court line as having.
