These beds also convert into bunk beds. Today it is almost impossible to find stand alone beds that double as bunk beds. Headboard is 37” high Length is 80” Width is 42” Similar beds on the Ethan Allen website are priced at $1.899. Standard twin sheets fit mattresses- 38 by 75. Contents tag relates to mattress not box spring. Stearns and foster are still made(stearnsandfoster.com) Their twin mattresses start at $1.379 and go up. I purchased this Gable House Twin New England Rock Maple Canopy Bed new from a store in Winchendon. MA in 1994. The bed is in very good condition, it is a standard size twin size. The head and foot board are made of solid rock maple. The side rails and adjustable slats are metal painted to look like wood. The canopy is a white metal frame, some discoloration. The canopy is easy to remove and store. The approximate outside frame dimensions are 8’4” long x 3’6” wide. The posts are approx 5’9” tall and the canopy frame at its height is approx 6’ high. Listing tonight is a matching pair of fabulous solid maple antique cannon ball beds in great shape. Estate sale find. These are true mortise and tenon construction with through bolts for unmatched sturdy results. They have a nice cannon ball turning that goes with many different styles and settings. The side rails are massive and are let into the footboard and headboard. They have the original metal box springs that hang from angle iron brackets for support. These are more comfortable than today's box springs that will not last. The finish is a colonial maple, a nice color that is original and has some wear and scuffs but they can be cleaned up with furniture restorer. At time of listing it was freezing and would not work well. These beds have it all, a classic look with nice under bed storage and if twins are on the way, this set would ... morebe a great start to that special room. The mattress would be 38 x 74 inches to fit this frame, making a standard twin mattress perfect. The over all size is 39 1/2 inches wide and 79 1/2 inches long with 12 inch under bed storage and 46 inches to the top of the turnings. The metal box springs are in great shape and could be re worked to use a newer one but this is the way to go for a true vintage look. These bed's were well taken care of and they are much better than today's versions being imported. They are dissasembled and ready to go but way too big to ship so local pick up is offered. They have the original wood slats included. I just finished wiping them down with furniture restorer and they look nice. It is a standard twin and can be used as a single as well. It has 2 sets of notches in the headboard and footboard. It is a sturdy bed from the 1950's and measures 41 x 81 inches and 44 inches to the top of headboard torchiere and 40 inches to the footboard torch.
