Mid century Drexel Biscayne king size headboard
How often do you see a king size headboard from this time period? It is not marked but it came out the same bedroom and matches the 2 chests I have listed which are marked Drexel Biscayne. Magazine advertizements referred to this as a"Utility headboard" I have always called them bookcase headboards. It is in very good condition. The finish is excellent for its age. There are no scratches or gouges. The doors slide easily. The wood needs a good cleaning which I think is best left to the buyer as I do not want to disturb the patina. Up for sale is a Vintage Mid Century Modern Double Full Bed that includes headboard. Footboard and sideboards. The wood finish is honey in color and is either maple or birch. It is used and therefore has scratches from over time. It has wood rollers. Three are original and one is a replacement. Both the headboard and footboard have tapered spindles as seen in the 1st and 3rd photo. The headboard is 33" tall and is 56 1/4" wide. The footboard is 17" tall and 56 1/4" wide. The thickness of the footboard and headboard is 1 inch and 15/16. The height of the spindles is 8" If you are nostalgic for the old days it is in good condition and many more years of use. Vintage 5 Piece French Provincial King Headboard Drexel Heritage Pained Flowers
Dresser is about 5 foot 6 inches long. 18 inches deep and 33 inches tall. Dresser- The 3 drawers on the left and the three on the right are all the same size on the dresser. The inside measures about 16 inches wide. 14 inches deep and 6 inches tall. The center 3 drawers in the center are larger and the inside measures about 22 1/4 inches wide. 2- Night Stands- measure about 32 inches wide. 15 1/2 inches deep and 22 inches tall. The inside drawers are about 25 1/2 inches wide, 11 1/4 deep and 4 3/4 inches tall. One of the night stands has a stain on the corner( see picture) They also have some discoloration or stains around the inside part of the handle were your fingers would rub when you open the drawers. Not sure if this will clean off or not. The headboard measures about 49 inches tall and 80 inches wide. I believe this is a king size ... morebed. The slots on the feet were you would put the rails on the headboard measure 75 1/2 inches to the inside holes and 77 1/2 inches to the outside holes. The headboard also has some discoloration from age. Again. Not sure if this could be cleaned or not(see pictures) Made of the solid construction for which Drexel is famous. Heritage bedroom set is beautifully painted with flowers and includes large Dresser. Mirror, two nightstands and headboard. In very good condition with a couple of marks and mild discoloration as described above. The inside of the drawers are like new and they slide in an out just fine.
