Vintage Statton Cherry Four 4 Poster double / Full Size Bed c. 1950
Cherry four poster bed with wooden side rails from 1951. It is a full size or double bed from Statton furniture company. There are scratches and wear appropriate for its age. But nothing a good polishing with furniture oil wouldn't cover. The last two photos show what damages I could find. One leg at the head of the bed looks as if it was cracked and repaired with screws, and the next to the last photo shows a small crack in the poster, which I am not sure can be seen- it was quite small. Each 4 poster bed feature a magnificent canopy. Made from Solid Cherry. A wonderful addition to any home. Just add upholstery and voila! CONDITION These beds show signs of use and age. Some light scratching or scuffing towards the feat and back. Every piece of the bed is solid except for the canopy which is missing the original hardware to screw in. This is easily fixed with modern screws. Some of the slats are missing dowels that have either snapped off or become stuck into the canopy over time. This can be fixed by any handyman.
