Tea Table features nice deep color and grain pattern. With a scalloped skirt resting on four cabriole legs with slight carving to knees, with protective hard rubber foot terminal ending. There are no candle slides on this model. Construction is rock solid steady with stamped markings underneath, but no maker name, could be any one of several small factories making colonial reproductions of good quality well before the internet and big box store days. Glue blocks on corners undererneath are nice and sound. This is all solid wood, not a cheap chip board foreign mahogany lookalike with sprayed laquer finish that looks garish in person! Condition Report: Slight rub mark to leg as shown. Small burn mark on top. General wear and tear of a used piece. But not abuse; I will clean it up before pickup as I do with all my dealer furniture to presentation quality ready for your home. Stunningly beautiful. Estate-scale, heavily and masterfully carved in the old-world tradition, this Rococo/Hollywood Regency style headboard is fit for a King or a Queen! Well, a King- or Queen-sized bed, anyway. Measures 74W x 54H x2D(in inches) slightly larger than a Queen size, which is how I'd always used it, and slightly smaller than a King. I'm downsizing my personal antiques collection. Amassed over 4 generations and acquired both in Europe and the US. This piece is from my grandmother's estate, and I believe it is of pre-war French provenance, although I am unsure how long before the war she purchased it? Judging by the nonstandard size, I'd say at LEAST the 1920s. Wood appears to be a dark, rich mahogany, and is in good condition. There have been brackets added to the bottom so a Queen sized bed frame could be attached; ... morethese are not visible when the headboard is in use, and could very easily be removed if you did not want to use them. An interior designer friend from Manhattan had me considering painting this bright white and using it as a focal point in a bedroom with otherwise modern furniture and vibrant color on the walls/floors/fixtures. VINTAGE Councill Craftsmen Mahogany Rice Wheat Carved Queen 4 Poster Bed Includes: 4 posts. 4 finals, 2 side boards, foot board, hear rail, head board. If wanted: You may also have the plywood under-guards(2 seen in photos) there are 3 total for both sides and foot of bed. These were screwed into to lower posts. So the bed and guards could slide together with the bed for cleaning. Used to keep our little dog from going under the bed. This bed needs cleaned and the help of a mahogany stain pen. Some of the wooden dowels will need to be reworked to use the 2 tall risers and finals. That go on the foot of the bed. There is 1 gum spot under the inside of 1 rail. The other rail has 1 line of clear wax on the outside as well as a 1"x.5" chip that has already been colored in with a stain pen.
