It is QUITE UNUSUAL with ornate metal work on ALL 4 CORNERS on the TOP of the chest.as well as ALL 4 CORNERS on the FRONT of the chest. Both front doors also have a metal SHIELD decoration and one side has a key lock which I do not have the key for. Nor do I know if it works.but looks very classy with all the Victorian Fancy Hardware. When opened. It reveals 3 drawers ~ 1 larger bottom one and 2 smaller side ones. It also has an open space to the right of the smaller drawers. The HANDLES on the 3 drawers are ORNATE with UNUSUAL DROP BAIL PULLS! ONE pull is MISSING. There is one pull which is unattached and as there is some metal damage to the 2 other handles. It will need some fixing.but still acceptable for its age in my opinion. Back is made of 2 pieces of wood and is not split. Just age seperation. The bottom is covered in old felt. CONDITION: ONE SIDE of the cabinet/chest has a center split in the wood. Pictures do not do this piece justice. This piece was purchased by my mother-in-law from Walter Cantrel in western North Carolina sometime in the 1950-60s. I would guess it is from the late 1800s or early 1900s. It is certainly custom made. The work is beautiful, the walnut on the door fronts has a beautiful grain, I could go on and on. It has a few chips, scratches, wear, etc. here and there, but is still completely usable. The finish and hardware appear to be original. It is a nice size, not too much bigger than the tall dresser we have, so should be a great addition to even a small room. There is a tag on the back that is very hard to read. Decorative floral& straight line carvings and 3 large dresser drawers below the closet. This wardrobe was recently imported through the UK and is particularly special with ornate carvings floral carvings alongside it's otherwise simple straight line carving and dentition on the bonnet, so prominent during the Edwardian period, as well as the original decorative metal hardware. This wonderful large wardrobe stands 82 inches tall by 53 inches wide by 23 inches ... morefront to back. This fabulous old wardrobe is in nice respectfully used condition inside and out. The large beveled mirror on the wardrobe door measures 46 inches tall by 16 1/2 inches wide and is clear with only a tiny few spots of very minor pitting. The closet has a cloak hooks around the inside of the closet behind the mirrored door. This open cabinet space behind that door in still lined in a bright blue fabric in pretty good condition and measures 46 inches wide by 18 inches front to back by 50 inches tall. Below the closet in the base of the piece are three large. Wonderful dresser drawers. Wardrobe, armoire all in one and is early 1900's bedroom furniture, as is evidenced by the mushroom drawer pulls, the sideways clothes hanging closet and brass Yale drawer lock. It is solid wood and uses half-blind dove tail joints. Measurements: Overall: 37 inches wide. 20 inches deep and 56 ¾ inches high. Knobs: 1 1/8 inches deep/ Drawers: 18 inches wide. 9 ¾ inches high-all except top drawer which is 6 ¾ inches high. Door: 15 ¾ inches wide and the inside is 19 inches deep and 15 ½ inches wide. Antique wardrobe/armoire. I have owned this since the 1970's purchased from an antique dealer. Was told it is turn of the century. Knockdown type. Pictures really show the condition. Please be sure to use the"mouse over" function to evaluate the condition. It is solid, but you can see the bracing that was applied to the back and the hanging rod that was also added. Size: 79" Tall 17 1/2" deep 48 1/2" wide. It is a good base for a restoration. NOTE: If buyer is interested in arranging crating and shipping after purchase. Vintage Cedar wardrobe closet armoire, Lakeside Craft Shops, Sheboygan, Wis.
THIS IS FOR LOCAL PICKUP ONLY A pre-owned cedar wardrobe tagged inside with a metallic label from Lakeside Craft Shops. Sheboygan, Wisconsin. It measures 35" wide x 75" tall x 25" deep. It is easily be taken apart for moving and I have done that more than a few times. I used it as a closet. A computer stand and for storing out-of-season bedding. It has been painted the color it is now which is Colonial Pear. When I used it as a computer stand, holes were drilled into the back to accommodate wiring. It would make a nice TV stand. The condition is mostly very good except that when breaking it down this last time, the floor of the closet spit along the grain lines in two places. It still fits together tightly because of the way it split. The door needs a catch. It has served me well over the years since I purchased it at Goodwill ... moremany years ago. From what research I have compared it appears to be Art Deco Waterfall design. Of the over 1100 Antique Armoire looked at. None were the same as this. Search was Antique Armoire Measurements are 70" Tall x 40.25" Wide x 20" Deep. Buyer responsibility to arrange all shipping or pick up locally. I will be readily available for shipper. It could stand to be restored as it has some scratches. Scrapes and peeled laminate. The back should also be replaced due to splitting/ separating layered wood. All 3 mirrors have peeling flaking issues. The 2 small mirrors have a gold tint plus the etching. Multiple drawers for storage. Both side compartments are cedar lined ... morewith metal rods for hanging clothes. All 4 Wooden casters intact. Armoire is decorated with multiple woods and is in overall very solid condition. Nothing is loose. Drawers and Doors all tight like should be. The pull down door has all the hinge screws missing with the screw holes stripped out. An easy fix but leaving that alone if it is to be restored correctly. 1 knob is missing on the upper mirrored door. Honest with details and cannot offer any kind of warranty. Please bid accordingly. This large antique English Country oak armoire. Manufactured during the early 1900's and recently imported from the UK, offers lovely organized storage for even the largest wardrobe. This large early 20th century wardrobe offers two hanging closets, each with a hanging bar and one has a 10 inch deep campaign drawer in the bottom for storing shoes or boots and a full size beveled dressing mirror on the central closet door; three large blind pull out tray shelves, behind that door along with a dresser with three large drawers. The inside of all the closets and shelving is lined in a yellow fabric which is overall clean and in good condition for it's age, adding a finished touch. The design of the piece includes an interesting construction technique that highlights the quartersawn oak wood and decorative metal hardware. This is a high ... morequality piece with dovetailed drawers and brass drawer pulls and I've included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the construction, design, condition and beauty of the piece, though pictures just don't do it justice. This large wardrobe stands 86 inches long by 80 inches tall and 26 1/2 inches deep. Front to back. The two side closets are each 25 inches wide by 20 inches front to back by 73 inches tall. In the left side facing closet there is 68 inches clearance below the hanging bar. In the right side facing closet there is a 10 inch deep campaign drawer, leaving 58 inches clearance to the floor below the hanging bar. This is an Antique Inlaid Mahogany Wardrobe Armoire that arrived from England a few years ago. This is a beautiful armoire with clear beveled oval mirror on the door. The front and edges all around have the inlaid design which is very interesting. The ornate hardware is original but has no key. Inside reveals both a rod and hooks along the back for clothing storage. There is a large drawer for added storage at the bottom. The mahogany is a rich color that would add warmth to any room. We then shipped it to our antique furniture store here in Atlanta. GA. Antique corner wardrobes are hard to find and this one was worth the wait! Most likely made around 1940. The wood used is mahogany. The mahogany wood has developed a lovely, warm patina. The simple lines and subtle decorations ... moreof this antique corner wardrobe will allow it to fit into almost any room where you could use extra storage. It would make a lovely coat closet near the front door or a wonderful clothes closet in a bedroom. The door of this wardrobe is a beveled mirror door. The mirror is clean and does not have any spotting. Inside is a large open space with some brass hooks for hanging. Below the door is a single. Large drawer. The drawer is constructed with dovetailed joints which shows you that the maker was a quality furniture maker. The hardware is all solid brass on the drawer and door. They also both lock and one key is included. Overall this antique corner wardrobe is in very good condition. There are a few dings here and there(especially on the cornice) as you would expect from a piece of this age. We have also pointed out in the photos where the board on the back of the door has expanded causing it to bow out. IL- Far west Chicago suburbs) Up for auction: A gorgeous. Old, oak armoire, closet or wardrobe. It has a beveled-mirrored door and one drawer, offering tons of elegantly hidden storage. I believe it's English, based on its instructional tag: This Wardrobe when dismantled will pass the narrowest stairway or passage. Instructions: Unscrew cornice and plinth from inside of carcase. Hold the door. I can't be certain, but believe it likely dates to the early 1900s. I had too many photos to include one of the patent number(small tag nailed inside the drawer) which reads: PROVL.PAT.NO. 86004-20. The inside compartment has three hooks across the center back top. And one hook on each side. The drawer ... moreis dovetailed. The mirror has a simple bevel. My photos aren't the best- sorry- bad lighting. I think. It's a medium-dark oak. Beautiful! Condition: Overall. For it's age, I think it's in nice vintage condition with age-appropriate imperfections. I think it displays beautifully(and is superbly useful) By way of flaws: 1) the left side. Center, shows a split(where two oak panels meet) it bows out slightly. I don't think it's really distractive, but could probably be remedied by the handy; 2) there's a 2" x 1/2" chip on one side, near the back, relatively near the bottom- hard to see; 3) can't really see it, but the bottom skirt is angled a bit, with a small split on one side; 4) the mirror I think is totally functional and charming as is, but has spots of loss of silvering and minor imperfections; 5) in the drawer, you'll see there are wood support blocks(these came with this- I assume for the underside- that look supplementary supports) that probably could be glued into position for additional support(I haven't investigated; the closet seems fine as is) 6) the door handle has pulled a bit with a small break in the metal- still

Good 1930`s Vintage Art Deco Large Burr Walnut Double Wardrobe Armoire
We have for auction here a fine Art Deco burr walnut wardrobe in the Art Deco manner dating to the early 20th century. This impressive wardrobe has a caddy style top with central carved motif over two large panel doors with wonderful original handles. Key and press button latch enclosing hanging space and hat shelves being raised atop a reduced plinth base. The wardrobe is in good working order for age with no worm or splits and comes suitable for use.
