The leaf is removable for easy storage when not in use. Please note that the leaf was used much less frequently and is slightly darker in color than the main table surface as shown. The chairs are all strong and sturdy with a wonderful low profile signature frank lloyd wright design. the backrest of one chair was repaired as pictured. This is not very distracting as-is(very sturdy) and could probably be completely hidden if it was to be refinished but should be noted, There are some minor repairs to a couple chairs as shown which are not very distracting but should be mentioned. The upholstery shows nicely but does have some minor soiling from use. It is usable as-is but should be reupholstered to match your decor. Eight chairs; two arm chairs and six side chairs; When the table is closed without any leaves(there are two) it measures 44" wide by 66" long. There are two 20" leaves The table has a 3" apron. The legs are adorned with a shell relief. The table and leaves are banded. The original seat covers were peach but they are a snap to recover and now they are adorned with a taupe embroidered microfiber. There are custom table pads for the table and its leaves. This is a striking and well cared for oval table with 8 chairs. Unextended it is a very managable 62 inches. With its 2- 20 inch leaves. It can be extended to the grand size of 102 inches. The table comes with its custom pad that is also in excellent condition. Notice the beautiful grain on the top and the detail to the skirt and fluted legs. The table is 42 inches wide and 29 inches tall. The top is just about as perfect as one can get. There is one tiny chip on the seam(3/4 by 1/8 inch) and one rough area along the seam about 5/8 inch. There are no rings. Stains or scratches. The table legs are also in wonderful condition with only the smallest ding here and there. There are 6 side chairs and 2 arm chairs. Although the fabric might not be what you would pick. It is in excellent shape and was custom fabric at $30 per yard when the set was new. The chairs feature cane backs. Description MID CENTURY HOLLYWOOD REGENCY HENREDON/DREXEL BISCAYNE DINING SET THIS IS AN AS-IS AUCTION. PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING. Two highly sought after fine furniture pieces paired together to make a very nice dining set. They don't make furniture like this anymore! Up for auction and your consideration is this great mid century Hollywood Regency Eames Era dining set. There are 6 Henredon high back cane chairs all signed HENREDON fine furniture and a 3 leaf expandable mid century modern Danish style round to oval table signed Drexel Biscayne. These items were crafted in the 1950's and show beautifully. The Drexel Biscayne Table is a medium teak color and the Henredon chairs are a medium golden pecan color. They compliment each other very nicely. As they are very close in color. The wood is in very good shape ... moreon all the pieces. Nice and sturdy. I am not the original owner, therefore I am describing them to the best of my ability. Two of the six HENREDON chairs are Captain's chairs with arm rests. One of the captain's chairs has a headrest not original to the piece. The cane backs show several areas of patches, wear and repair. Not noticeable at first glance, but visible when closely examined. The fabric seats have been recovered with a red crushed velvet fabric. They are, however, nice and clean. The Drexel Biscayne table converts up to four different sizes from a round breakfast size table out to a mid sized with one or two leafs. And finally to a full sized dining table with the 3 leaf inserts. It measures 44 inches in diameter when used as a round table. The full size of the dining table measures 80.5 in. L x 44 in. W x 29.5 H when converted with all 3 leafs. Vintage high back Henredon dining chairs retail between 10K-20K. The last photo is an example of low back Henredon chairs.
