Mid Century Modern Tulip Dining Table & Swivel Chairs Burke Similar to Saarinen
Vintage Burke Tulip table and 4 swivel chairs. This is a very unique set. The original table is a nice rosewood laminate and is in overall very nice condition. There are some minor nicks around the edges. The tulip base I believe is aluminum and has a weighted center, the table top is removable as pictured. The top measures 48" in diameter and is 29" high. The 4 swivel chairs are a unique blend of colors with a naugahyde/vinyl mustard yellow back and armrests along with a vinyl removable seat cushion that is nice because you can wipe them clean when needed, the color on them is an aqua. The swivel bases are self centering and all function. Even the original foot glides are unique as they swivel to contour to an uneven floor. Burke really did a nice job on this set. The set is not perfect, the yellow seat backs have some minor separation ... morewhere the threads have let go in some of the seams, we have owned this set for quite some time and the seams have never split any further, there is minor discoloration due to age in the metals, I just do not want any confusion as to this being in very good vintage condition. About the Dining Set RARE 1960's mid century modern Tulip Table Dining set with one large table and four chairs with arms. In good overall condition. Though it is vintage and shows some wear due to the age of the dining set. I believe it's Knoll but there are no stickers to authenticate which is why the price is 3 times lower than what a verifiable Knoll Saarinen Tulip Dining Set in this condition would be at retail. There are no cushions. They have been removed at some point and there are some slight glue markings which I think can be removed or you could buy or make new cushions. There is a thatched pattern on chairs. The bases have been repainted at least once. It doesn't fit with an upcoming renovation I'm doing in my kitchen. SPACE AGE MOD Chromcraft Dining Table & 4 Chairs LUCITE GLASS Saarinen TULIP
There's more photos at the bottom of the text! Vintage dining room table with 4 swivel chairs. Made of Lucite. Metal and glass. The maker is unknown since there are no tags or marks that I could find on the pieces although it has a striking resemblance to a Chromcraft set. The circular glass top rests upon an oval base giving a rather interesting"eyeball" effect when viewed standing up. Chairs are thick Lucite and steel with padded vinyl cushions. The base Lucite is an amber color while upper section is more of a smoked grey. This color difference isn't that striking until you get closer or bright sunlight hits it at the right angle. Overall condition is good with no breaks or cracks in the Lucite or glass. The chairs function well and are very sturdy and well made with no creaks or cracks. They have a nice weight and heft ... moreto them. The steel on all the pieces looks exceptionally great since it was just recently powdercoated. The vinyl seats have just been recovered and are nice and white although there is a detraction to one of them. See below. Here's a list of the detractions noted. No matter how minor: The glass top has many small scuffs and scratches that are visible when you get closer to it. The Lucite table base has scuffs and scratches as well. The Lucite on the chairs has scuffs and scratches. Many of these could potentially be buffed out with the time and enough elbow grease One vinyl seat has many small tears and burrs. I don't imagine it would cost a lot to have this one chair reupholstered. Please see all the photos for images of these detractions. Table measures 42 inches in diameter and is 29.5 inches high. Each chair is 30 inches high at the back with a width of 25 inches and a depth of approx 25 inches. Mid-century vintage tulip table and chair set. Made by"North Central Industries, Inc. Johnson, WIS" Looks to be early 1970's. In good overall condition. Table is wood with formica top or similar surface, chairs are molded fiberglass. All chairs swivel smoothly with no wobble or squeaks. Seat cushions are new generic cushions(from Ikea) and not original. Edge of table has some wear as shown in the closeup photo. Bases have some light scuffs and may need cleaning. No attempt has been made to paint or restore this set- it is in good original condition that has been in daily use. Note that this set is the rare low-profile version. Up for sale is a really beautiful Chromcraft dining set. In excellent condition, the one owner used this a dedicated dining table and it was rarely used. This table was really taken care of. Incredibly clean and the bases still have all the original gliders. I'll be adding some more pics later this evening. Cushions are original and in excellent condition. The original owner added some foam under the cushions over the chair base. Easy to remove but actually protects the cushions well. The glass has some small scuffs here and there. Very hard to notice. This set is eggshell white and includes an extra large(5 feet diameter) round table that can seat 6-8 and 4 molded fiberglass swivel/auto-return tulip armchairs with original black cushions.
