Although considered common furniture in the 1920s-30s it is an excellent example of detail and craftsmanship. This type of furniture was made by many different manufacturers and sold by many different stores; so finding an exact manufacturer might not be possible. Original tags still attached-reads-made ... moreby Bernhardt Furniture Co. Lenoir, North Carolina-the underside of the table is also stamped: Oval Table-Cherry-29-etc. Made of Cherry wood-medium, chestnut brown stain allows for much of the grain in the wood to show. Set consisted of table with removable center piece-5 regular chairs and one captain's chair with arms-hutch and buffet. I bought these 20 years ago and now am getting different furniture. I had the seats professionally reupholstered long ago to match my decor(olive green/goldish print)I have always kept seat pads on the chairs when in use-so the seats are in great condition. Table measures 58" x 40" x 30 1/2" tall-with an additional center piece that measures 12" wide. The Hutch is 47" x 15" x 70" tall. The Buffet is 57" x 17 1/2" x 30 1/3" tall. Overall very nice condition-normal wear for being 84 years old. Some things I would mention are that the wood color of the center piece section is darker than the rest of the table, it was like that when I bought it-possible meant for contrast or maybe because it was stored out of the light)also a slice of the corner wood has broken off as can be seen the the picture-back rt corner of section. Also-a bit of wood had chipped off the top corner of the table leg(tiny but I mention it to be exact-not seen from the top) The legs screw off with attachment bolts to remove them for storage. Also, one chair missing a decorative wood curve on front leg-shown in pic. Also- scratch on table top-6" and 1 1/2"shown in last pic. If I missed something-please ask. The color of the hutch in the first pic is the true color-rich and beautiful. This set was refinished in 1990 and was brought back to the original bleached mahogny look. Buffet 4 drawer- 2 side cupboard chest fused with combed wood and smooth surfaces. It rests on a base. With short legs canted outward. X-shaped brass angular geometric handles adds a form of the 1950's modernism. 6 Chairs- 2 with arms. Dining table with 3 leaves extends to 10 feet.

I am selling a fabulous Heywood Wakefield mid-century dining set composed of eight pieces which include dining table. Six chairs(one arm chair) and a buffet in the champagne finish. All pieces are in excellent structural condition. I believe this was part of the Heywood Wakefield Atomic line of furniture. The table has two large removable leaves which I believe maintain their original finish. The table with the drop leaves down measures 40" x 27 1/2" x 28" high. With the drop leaves up in their extended position the table measures 40" W x 58 1/2" L and would seat 4 to 6 people comfortably. With both removable leaves in place the table extends to 94" L and could seat up to 10 to 12 people. This set is very versatile and is perfect for a small space with expansion for entertaining a larger group. The removable ... moreleaves are each 18" The drop leaves are each 15 1/2" The table top surface appears to have been refinished. There is one noticeable scratch on the table top. The chairs have what I see called the"dogbone" backs. There are five side chairs and one arm chair. All are structurally sound. The chair upholstery fabric is stained and should be replaced along with new padding. The buffet/credenza/dresser is in excellent condition with a refinished top. It is 54 inches long, 19 inches deep, 34 inches high. This piece is wonderfully versatile and could also be used in another living area as a credenza or as a dresser in a bedroom. A lovely piece. All drawers operate smoothly and the two swing door panels operate properly and close firmly. This furniture is located in the Lake George region of New York State. Kindel Dining set with Table, 6 Chairs, Buffet, and Room Divider
If you are not aware of Kindel Furniture here is their website: It is a company out of Michigan that has been making high end furniture for over 100 years. All of their pieces are made to order. Nothing is mass produced. Many are hand crafted and hand painted, including the set I have here. The set that I have was made in 1982 and is part of the China Trade Collection.The original description of the collection is in one of the photos. Here is a very brief description of the pieces with the prices at time of purchase: Buffet: Cherry Veneers and Solids. Four doors with shelving and two drawers on the inside. It has a glass top. Which is cracked(the glass, not the top of the buffet) It is still on the piece to protect it, but it just sits on top, so it is not needed, or a new piece can be cut. $3450.00 new in 1982) Rectangular Table: Three Leaves ... moreare included(they come with the set. But are not shown in the photos because they are in storage. They are in great condition though) The Table top is made of White Olive Ash Burl Veneer with Cherry Basket Weave Framing. Solid Cherry Apron and Legs. $2505 new in 1982) Side Chairs: Solid Maple. Upholstered seats. $395 new in 1982) Arm Chairs: Solid Cherry. Upholstered Back and Pullover Box Seat($490 new in 1982) The set also has a room divider that looks like it goes with the set. But according to Kindel, was not built by them. One side(the side seen in pictures) has beautiful stone carvings and hand painted designs. The other side has hand painted designs and murals, with no stone carvings. The detail in this piece is amazing. As seen in the picture it is just used against a wall, but it can also be used as a room divider, or even disassembled(brass hinges could be removed) and hung in sections as art on a wall. Again, it is not a Kindel piece, and I'm not aware of the origin, but it is a great fit for the set. The furniture shows very little wear. It does have a few blemishes but nothing major. There is also a thick(about 1/2 inch) pad that goes over the table

This is an amazing dining set designed by Don Stockard and Raymond Zerr. Both pieces in excellent condition. Dining Table measures 102" long x 47" wide All the caning and material on the chairs are in excellent condition. There are a couple of minor scratches on chairs(see pic) The Buffet measures 8.6' long x 2.15' deep In overall excellent condition. The buffet is in very nice condition. The china cabinet is in very nice condition. All of the dining room furniture is beautiful. They were hardly used at all.and not at all for the last twenty years, and only for Thanksgiving and Christmas before that. The mirror is perfect. The leaves are perfect.except that they were stored in the closet and there was some paper between the two. And something has adhered to the surface of one of the leaves. The chairs are sturdy, the harvest table works great and we have the original key for the hutch and buffet. Truly a very nice piece. 1 China cabinet- 2 pieces item numbers 8388 and 8390. Andover#48 finish. Hard Rock Maple. The base is 52" W by 19" D by 33" H. Total height is 71" 5 Dovetailed center guided drawers. Excellent condition. Structurally and cosmetically. Table has formica top and is 58 1/2" long by 41 1/2" wide with no leaves. Table has 3 leaves that are each 11 1/2" wide. There are six chairs that are slightly worn with use. One chair has a slight crack in the seat and another chair has a slight crack in one of the upright spindles on the back of the chair. Both chairs are still very usable. This set was purchased new around 45 years ago. Must sell to downsize- moving. Good price for china cabinet and table and chairs. Email with questions.

Beautiful quality mid century table. Four chairs and matching buffet/sideboard. The table and sideboard are glossy. Smooth light blonde simulated wood formica. The edge of the table is beveled at each corner with a 3" face around the entire table. Black twisted metal hairpin legs on each piece. The table measures 42" x 52.5" There is a hidden leaf measuring 17 3/4" that folds in half and stores inside the table. The table slides apart with the pull of a lever and the leaf unfolds and fits into place. The fabric on the 4 chairs is nubby Rhino Hyde Naugahyde vinyl in rich cream oatmeal. The chair backs have black metal flat tacks around the edge. Each chair has the original manufacturer paper label covering the underside of the seat. The buffet has a shelf inside.
