This is item: M 197 G- Pedestal Drop Leaf Extension Table- produced between 1948 and 1955. As you can see from the pictures this piece is in EXCELLENT condition- retains the original CHAMPAGNE finish. Measures 40" by 26" closed. 40" by 58" with the drop leaves up. Heywood Wakefield Mid-century Dining Set Atomic Table, 6 Chairs, Buffet Dog Bone
I am selling a fabulous Heywood Wakefield mid-century dining set composed of eight pieces which include dining table. Six chairs(one arm chair) and a buffet in the champagne finish. All pieces are in excellent structural condition. I believe this was part of the Heywood Wakefield Atomic line of furniture. The table has two large removable leaves which I believe maintain their original finish. The table with the drop leaves down measures 40" x 27 1/2" x 28" high. With the drop leaves up in their extended position the table measures 40" W x 58 1/2" L and would seat 4 to 6 people comfortably. With both removable leaves in place the table extends to 94" L and could seat up to 10 to 12 people. This set is very versatile and is perfect for a small space with expansion for entertaining a larger group. The removable ... moreleaves are each 18" The drop leaves are each 15 1/2" The table top surface appears to have been refinished. There is one noticeable scratch on the table top. The chairs have what I see called the"dogbone" backs. There are five side chairs and one arm chair. All are structurally sound. The chair upholstery fabric is stained and should be replaced along with new padding. The buffet/credenza/dresser is in excellent condition with a refinished top. It is 54 inches long, 19 inches deep, 34 inches high. This piece is wonderfully versatile and could also be used in another living area as a credenza or as a dresser in a bedroom. A lovely piece. All drawers operate smoothly and the two swing door panels operate properly and close firmly. This furniture is located in the Lake George region of New York State. Today we have a mid-century dining set made by Heywood Wakefield. It needs to be refinished and touched up to be back in its full former glory. This set includes five dog bone chairs. And one captain's chair. The measurements of the chairs are as follows: 18" tall from floor to top of seat. 33" tall from floor to top of back, 15 1/2" deep, 18" wide. This set also comes with a Credenza. Which is in similar condition to the table and chairs(used condition) It measures 48" x 18" x 32" The table. The table has a nice finish and shows only light wear. The finish on the two extensions appears to have been worn or stripped off. The chairs show some marks on the legs, and wear to the original upholstery. I haven't tried to clean anything. The table can be set up as small as 40" wide x 28" in length(with both sides ... moredown) and with both drop leafs up, it is 58" in length. With both extensions, it would take it to 94" in length. Heywood Wakefield original champagne dining table and 4 chairs cat’s eye 1950’s Eames Table. 4 chairs, and 1 leaf. In very good original finish. This set came from a local estate and had been very well cared for and always covered when dining. A console bowl sat in the center of the table and there is scuff in the finish. Circa 1950’s. The table measures 38" by 54" closed, 38" by 72" with the 18" leaf inserted, 29” high. Chairs are 32.5” high, 18” wide and 19” deep with a 18.5” seat height. If the upholstery is not original(I have no clue) it is a very good professional appearance. There may be scuffs and scrapes appropriate to age and use, but good overall. A few scuffs more noticeable to the leaf occurred during storage) The set is marked Champagne and is a milky hue(in the past I have had furniture marked Champagne ... morethat had more of a honey brown hue) This set is used- it will have all the patina. Included in this sale are: Dining room table with six chairs. One with arms. There are two leaves. There are four pads. One china cabinet. One buffet. One mirror. One smaller end table. One larger end table. One lamp. These pieces are all original finish. One owner. The dining room table is in very nice condition. The chair coverings are clean, but have sun fading. The buffet is in very nice condition. The china cabinet is in very nice condition. All of the dining room furniture is beautiful. They were hardly used at all.and not at all for the last twenty years, and only for Thanksgiving and Christmas before that. The mirror is perfect. The leaves are perfect.except that they were stored in the closet and there was some paper between the two. And something has adhered to the surface of one of the leaves. It seems like there must be someway ... moreto get this off. It is not scratched or in the varnish as far as I can tell. The pads were never taken out of the box and are perfect. The smaller end table has been used and has wear on the top. The larger end table is in very nice condition except that it had been in the basement which saw a couple inches of water and the legs soaked up some. Discoloring the legs. They are not warped, just discolored. The lamp is some old lamp. Original. The shade has some spots on the underneath. All items come from a nice home. No smoking, no odors, etc. I don't have any idea what this stuff is worth. And I am listing it with the intent that someone will come look at it, so I am not going into great detail. Mom always kept the felt covers on. All Original. No Refinishing. The table is 63.5in. X 42in. without the leaves. There are three leaves at 10in. X 42in. So the table can be 93.5in. X 42in. Table stands 29in. high. There are original felt/pressboard/plastic covers for the table and leaves. Table top is heavy. You need two strong people to move it. As for the chairs. Mid Century Blonde Whalebone Dining Table & Chairs Heywood Wakefield Era
Hi Everyone! This auction is for a blonde champaign whalebone. Drop leaf dining table with 4 chairs. The set came from an estate and will need some cleaning The seats would also be nice reupohlstered. The laminate table top is in very nice condition for age and I would see no reason for refinishing. The worst flaw BY FAR would be a small laminate edge chip and paint wear as seen in close up photo. There is also a small short string of glue on top near edge which does not distract from display and could probably be removed. Any other wear is very minor. Table measures 35 1/2" deep and 25" with leaves down, 58 1/8" with the leaves up. Please ignore any circles my camera added to photos. Chairs are overall sturdy and have no breaks. The whalebone legs on table need cleaned and possibly refinished. I noticed some hairlines in glue ... moreups where the legs are glued together. WE also noticed that one leg is slightly cocked and that there are support brackets on base which may be factory or added later. We could only find remnants of tags so we are uncertain of manufacturer. One table leg is stamped Sep 21 1955 on base and the slides are stamped Watertown Table Slide Corporation Watertown Wisconsin. 1950's Heywood Wakefield Drop Leaf Dining Set
Original Heywood Wakefield table top has been refinished and is in near excellent condition. It comes with 4 original chairs. The original chairs were not refinished because they are already in very good condition and very sturdy. I believe they may have been re-upholstered and the upholstery is still in good condition. I have included some pictures. But you must see this drop leaf table and chair set to really appreciate its beauty. Each leaf measures 19" When fully extended with both leaves up the table measures 63" L x 42" W. I will not ship this item. If you buy it, you must pick it up in Albuquerque, NM.
