You are bidding on a Vintage Matching Set Dark Wood Wooden Carved Finials 5 1/2" tall Curtain? Furniture? Each finial is very nicely carved. They measure 2 3/4" in diameter at the largest point. Each finial measures approximately 5 1/2" tall from top to bottom. The shaft measures 1" in diameter and about 1 3/16" long. The collar is 2 3/16" in diameter. They are in very nice condition and may have never been used but I do not know that for sure. I am not an expert so please examine the pictures and determine condition for yourself. Originally used to make sand casts which were then filled with molten metal to form the metal parts needed for machines. This one has"TOP OF HOUSING. SAFTY(sic) VALVE, PORCELAIN DISC" etched on one side of the top, the other has the date May 30, 1918 and raised metal numbers"8 0 8" affixed. A nice collectible example of precision woodworking from the early 1900's. Measures: 9 1/2 D x 6 1/2"H Condition: rustic. Industrial and almost 100 years old- various nicks, scratches, etc. appears somewhere along the line it might have been coated with thin layer of clear varnish, though we are not sure.
