I believe it's English, based on its instructional tag: This Wardrobe when dismantled will pass the narrowest stairway or passage. Instructions: Unscrew cornice and plinth from inside of carcase. Hold the door. I can't be certain, but believe it likely dates to the early 1900s. I had too many photos to include one of the patent number(small tag nailed inside the drawer) which reads: PROVL.PAT.NO. 86004-20. The inside compartment has three hooks across the center back top. And one hook on each side. The drawer ... moreis dovetailed. The mirror has a simple bevel. My photos aren't the best- sorry- bad lighting. I think. It's a medium-dark oak. Beautiful! I don't think it's really distractive, but could probably be remedied by the handy; 2) there's a 2" x 1/2" chip on one side, near the back, relatively near the bottom- hard to see; 3) can't really see it, but the bottom skirt is angled a bit, with a small split on one side; 4) the mirror I think is totally functional and charming as is, but has spots of loss of silvering and minor imperfections; 5) in the drawer, you'll see there are wood support blocks(these came with this- I assume for the underside- that look supplementary supports) that probably could be glued into position for additional support(I haven't investigated; the closet seems fine as is) 6) the door handle has pulled a bit with a small break in the metal- still

Overall measurements(approximate) are 73" tall at center of wardrobe. 21 1/2" deep and 48" wide. The inside measurements are 63" tall and 20 1/4" deep. The shelf is approx. 9" below the inside top of the wardrobe. The rods for hanging clothes and the hardware are original. The mirror measures 12" x 23 1/2" This is a nice piece of furniture and has no deep scratches and there are no cracks in the wood. Solid and fully functional as a portable closet or a shelved storage cupboard. Original hardware. Inside and out. Ready to use. Same owner for over 35 years: non-smoking and pet-free. Never stored or weather exposed. This wardrobe is very old and beautiful. Its solid wood structure(including the back) is all original. It can be taken apart. Knock Down" making it easy for two people to transport it. The finish is in very good shape. There is no top piece with this wardrobe; we have used an antique linen Piano Scarf draped over the top. However it looks very nice without the scarf as well.

It came in on a load and the boys decided to touch up. But as they got going they decided the wood was so pretty that they ended up refinishing it. It has been all hand stripped, hand sanded, a dark oak stain applied and multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer have been applied. This is simply gorgeous, so do not get it confused with one that has had a haphazard finish as this has been professionally done. This wardrobe has a drawer on the base for storage. When you open the bevel glass mirror door, the inside reveals a hanging rod and hooks offering plenty of space. The overall size is 49 inches wide, 17 inches deep and approximately 75 inches high. It is a great looking cabinet. Honestly, the refinishing job alone would cost $425 if you had it done in the shop, so this price is incredibly reasonable. On the right is silver mirrored door which opens up into three shelves. Including a bar on the back of the door for hanging belts, ties or clothes when getting dressed. Towards the top left are double doors for even more storage. This beautiful wardrobe features a lock and key. The locks are all from National Lock Company out of Rockford, Illinois. As a team of three Swedish immigrants they began making furniture locks in 1903. All of the locks are in working condition. This wonderful piece of craftsmanship is perfect for any home. For sale is a great antique wardrobe or armoire made of quartersawn/tiger oak wood that will hold a lot of things. The wardrobe is 73" wide x 76" high x 20" deep on the outside. The beveled center mirror on the front is 50" x 18" Each door is 56" x 20" each dovetailed drawer is 33" x 10" and the storage area in each side is 54" high x 34" wide. This wardrobe does easily disassemble into about 10 pieces with the largest piece(the base) being 73" x 18" high x 20" deep. There is carving at the top of each door, there are no cracks or breaks in the mirror, the base has bun feet, and the wardrobe has dentil moulding at the top. The inside has several hooks to hang items on and a closet rod could be installed if that is preferred. A great antique piece that is ready to use.
