It is in excellent condition. The salt spoon 2" long. It is marked"Sterling" and also has a picture/makers mark under it. The handle of the spoon is monogrammed with a M in old english. I am pleased to offer a beautiful set of six antique salts. Salt CELLARS made by O& E.G. Royal Austria. These salts are absolutely stunning with the interior finish being a pearlized iridescent and a white outside with gold around the scalloped rim of the salts. Based upon the marking on the back of these salts. They were made between 1898 and 1918. The marking on the back of the salts was used by Oscar& Edgar Futherz of Altrolau, Bohemia(now Czech Republic) from 1898 to 1918. The company made some of the finest porcelain and exported both decorated& undecorated pieces. In 1918, the company became part of OEPIAG, the Austrian Porcelain Industry and used a different marking. All of these salts are in excellent condition. Vintage Bohemian Gold Ceramic Salt Cellars And Shakers Schlackenwerth Czech
Amazing find! Two Bohemian ceramic salt cellars and a pair of salt and pepper shakers gilded in gold. These were made by Pfeiffer and Lowenstein in Schlackenwerth(now Ostrov) Czechoslovakia between the years 1918 and 1941. The company stopped production and shut it's doors forever in 1949. They still have the original cork stoppers. They are in good condition for their age but do show signs of use with some scratches and wear to the gold gilding. Please look at the pictures closely as they are a large part of the description.

These individual exquisite salt cellars are made of the finest bone china- they're almost translucent. Salt cellars were used in fancy homes before salt shakers. Each place setting had its own salt cellar with a little bit of salt in the bowl that could be pinched and added to the food by the diner. They are hand-painted with delicate rose flowers. With yellow centers, green leaves, and gold trim. The detail is incredible and my camera does not capture how delicate fine the painting is. Please be sure to zoom in on the photos. Each has 3 toes(feet) that are in perfect shape and each toe is even highlighted in fine gold paint. There are no maker's mark on them so it's hard to tell exactly how old they are or where they came from for sure. But they did come from a family of German heritage. This set is quite old and has seen service and date to the early to mid-19th Century before shakers came into use. Lots of inclusions in the glass and some flea bites and a chip on the one of the bottom corners of cellar. First photo shows the cellars from the top and 2nd photo shows cellars from the bottom.
