No damages that can be seen with very bright and shiny brass finish! He stands approx. 5" tall with a 4-1/2" wingspan and a 1-3/4" diameter base. We are unsure of the the thread size where a threaded rod would be screwed into. It appears to be 2 separate cast pieces, as there is a screw on the back holding the base to the eagle. This particular piece is unmarked, so we are unsure of who originally made this. We were told when we acquired this finial that this was used at an American Legion hall here in Chicago. Antique Solid Brass or Bronze American Eagle Flag Pole Topper Finial Vintage
For sale is an antique solid brass or bronze American Eagle finial that was found in my grandmother's attic while closing out her estate. Measures approximately 5" tall(when standing flat on base opening) and approximately 7" from wing tip to wing tip. Threaded stud is either 3/16-24 or 1/4-20. This piece is HEAVY! Since my grandmother passed away and we are tasked with closing out the estate. There will likely be other Americana, vintage and antique brass faucets, antique porcelain light and bathroom fixtures, as well as vintage and antique Singer, White and Standard sewing machine and treadle pieces and equipment. This listing is for one vintage solid brass spear shaped finial/topper. I'm not sure what this came off of. Could have been a fence post or flag pole topper. It does not have a threaded opening. Just slips on and has a hole to pin it in place. Measures 7" tall. Opening is 3/4" OD. It does show age and use wear. Scuffs. Scratches, tarnishing.
