4 Vintage French Fleur de Lis/Lys Metal Finials Dull Goldtone Finish 3" Long
The most interesting things are found in dark corners of basement or attic at estate sales. And I'm a packrat that brings them home. These are cool, dull goldtone metal finials for something. They are 3" long full length. The square ends are about an inch of that length. They stick into some type of rod for curtains, I think, or could be used for crafts, costuming, garden decor or what have you. The imagination reels at the possibilities. Or you could use these for curtain rods like I think they were supposed to be. I love things Frenchy looking or Frenchy feeling. Use these for Paris Apartment decorating. Lavish, chic, it all comes to mind, but yes, if you can find the right size curtain rod these would be grand.

For your consideration we have a great vintage eagle flag pole finial. It has a loop in it. This retro finial came from a recent estate auction. All-metal construction. Likely bronze. I am guessing mid-century for this. But cannot be sure. Size: wing tip to wing tip is 5-1/2" Finial height without base is 2-1/2" Base is maybe 5/8" wide and inserts 3/4" in. Condition: GOOD vintage. Some darkening to the original gold finish. A rusty scratch in the base which I believe to be from removing this from a rusty metal pole. Small cracks on the base of the wings from manufacture which do not affect the strength or look of this piece at all. The loop appears a little over-ground when it was dressed during manufacture. Vintage Heavy Solid Metal 6 5/8" Flag Pole Topper/Finial Spear/Arrow Head
This finial appears to be older; however. I'm not an expert and cannot say for certain how old it may be. I believe that it's a flag pole finial, but I'm also not sure of this; it could be used as a fence post finial I suppose. I'm also not sure what metal it's made of. It has a gold-tone finish that appears to have wear. Please see the pictures for the details of this piece. I can tell you that it measures about 6 5/8 inches long with a diameter of 3/4" at the bottom. There is also a hole near the bottom for securing the finial to the pole. The spear portion is flat versus 3 dimensional. This piece is in decent used and vintage condition with some wear to the finish and perhaps a little bit of wear to the metal. It's fairly heavy for its size.

I am not sure what kind of metel it is made of but it looks a brass color at the top where the piece is rubbed the most. 7 1/2 inches from top to round base.11inches from top to bottom. The wideset area is almost 3 inches wide.The finial is attached to a round piece with a rod that looks like it has been broken off. I can not imagine how it was broken because it is a very thick metal. The finial turns on the base. I do not know if the finial can be removed from the base. Please see pictures.

These are very cool and definitely unique. I'm not sure if they were originally bed post finials or perhaps fence post finials. Whatever they were originally used for I'm quite sure someone could use these to decorate something. They look to be in the form of perhaps a griffin or some other mythical creature. They have an oriental look to them. They are made of cast iron or some sort of other cast metal. Most the original gold paint still remains. None have broken places. The threaded opening measures just under 1 inch across. These are quite heavy weighing about 1 pound 4 ounces each. A great opportunity to get a truly unique set of finials.
