Vintage Brass Bronze Eagle Flag Pole Finial Architectural Americana
Up for auction is a vintage brass or bronze eagle flag finial recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition. It is still on a pole which can be removed by unscrewing it from its base. Once unscrewed, there is a 1/4" screw underneath it. I believe the eagle to be brass or bronze, as it will not attract a magnet. It features natural patina, which shows itself as spotting on the sleeve. The wing span is approximately 3 1/2" wide. The eagle is also 3 1/2" tall. A very nice finial. Very nice for reuse or to be used as a finial again. After pulling on the wood for awhile, I finally got it loose. Hi there. This is a Vintage Architectural Salvage Cast Aluminum Finial Top that measures 17" tall x 15" wide corner to corner. This piece has no damages and is very solid. It is constructed of a very thick aluminum and has black paint that shows a natural patina. It appears it may have been hinged on one side as there are 2 molded brackets with cotter keys in them and a small hole on the opposite side. Pair of Antique Vintage Heavy Brass Arrows Up for your consideration is this pair of heavy brass arrow finials.not sure what these were originally attached to. Possibly curtain rods, fence, or maybe a rooftop architectural piece. I am uncertain of the age, both are 5 7/8" tall, they are double sides with peaks on each side so they have dimension. The bases have small holes, one has an extra brass fitter around the diameter of the base and is jagged, the other does not have this piece. This antique weight circa late 1800's retains a old black paint and the original large 2 inch diameter hook ring. The top has a pyramidal 5 five step ridged design. The condition is very good with no damage. This weight measures 5 inches tall including the top ring. The base is 3 by 2 and 3/4 with the top measuring 2 and 1/2 by 2 and 1/2 inches. Vintage Lot 4 Walnut Turned Finials Furniture End Caps Salvage Architectural Parts We’re offering this Lot of 4 Vintage Walnut Turned Finial Furniture End Caps. Circa 1930-40s. They are solid walnut& measure 8 ¾”L. Have decorative turned design with 2 ¼” base& 1 ¼” collar. The 2 ½” body elongates up to a ¾” diameter spire with 1 ¼” knob cap. Each has a 1”L x ½” diameter dowel post for insert to furniture. These ornate finials were originally on top of a rather impressive old barrister cabinet and flanked across the top between 2 crowns. Unfortunately the cabinet was lost in a hurricane decades ago but the finials were salvaged& in very nice condition for age. They have a natural finish& show little wear with exception to some aged varnish craze on surface& hopefully you can see in the ... more1 photo shows oxidation on back side where sat against wall for many years. They have been wiped down& rubbed with some lemon oil to refresh the wood grain. ARCHITECTURAL ANTIQUE : VINTAGE CARVED MAHOGANY CREST
VINTAGE CARVED MAHOGANY FLEUR-DE-LIS CREST: This is a very impressive and interesting carved crest. It is solid mahogany. Deeply carved in the traditional fleur-de-lis pattern. A black metal fleur-de-lis badge has been added to the center of the crest. The crest is approx. 19" tall x 11 3/4" wide x 5 1/2" deep. There are a few missing end pieces at the bottom carving, and there is a missing piece on the right side of the upper carving. The missing pieces do not detract from the overall visual impact of the crest. A handcut/drilled hole has been made at each side of the piece. The finish is satin oil-rubbed dark mahogany. A drilled hole in the back of the crest is used for wall mounting of the piece.

UNUSUAL CARVED MAHOGANY FINIAL: This is a very nicely carved acanthus leaf finial. The finial is attached to it's original 1 3/4" ht. x 5" sq. solid mahogany base with the original square nails. The base has a small missing section at the bottom edge near one of the corners. It also has some nail holes.from where it was attached to it's post. The overall height of the mounted finial is 14 1/2" The carved round center body is approx. 4 3/4" diam. The finial also has a 4 3/4" circular base pad. But! The outstanding feature of the finial is it's open, see-thru, vertical acanthus leaf spire. All four long vertical leaf sections are separated by an open void. One of the spire leaves has it's tip missing, but other than that the carved finial is in excellent condition. Up for auction is a unique vintage antique woodenware gold painted relief carved rose or flower finial or end cap recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition with pedals opening to revel an open center. There are chips and losses to the wood, as well as to the original gold paint. Please see the photos for details. Each of these bold. Oversize finials measures 9” tall x 3” maximum diameter and is composed of stacked solid brass components that were spun, cast and machine turned. They date from the first decades of the 1900s and have used patina with tarnish and dirt and minor dents. There is no central threaded rod to unite them.
