The piece also features an embossed carving of scrolling vines, capped with a shell motif at the top of the door. The mirror features a a one inch bevel around the perimeter.

On either side of the door, pedestaled on large tapered columns rest large and highly impressive patinated and gilt bronze Classical female heads with bowed ribbon holding her hair back. These are the largest mounts of flawless execution we've seen on a piece from this period, each a stunning work of art in it's own merit. A hand filed steel screw secures each head to the case. Beneath the column, intense gilded Lion Paw's in the Regency manner complete the form. The arched door swings open with use of the original key. Revealing a golden oak interior of four shelves and a single locking drawer. This drawer is hand dovetailed with solid oak secondary woods, when removed revealing an illegible signature in period script along the dust board. Affixed to the top of the armoire on the inside is an old bill of lading from Lawsonia Manufacturing Company in Philadelphia, noting it's sale of an"Exist.
