3 beautiful. Ornate, chair backs for the price of one! All are oak construction and have frightening ghoulish faces. All are completely freestanding because of their slight curve. Top one has a shabby chic/primitive finish and measures 23 inches by about 6 3/4 inches. 2nd one measures 20 inches by 7 1/4 inches. Smallest one is tiger oak and measures 15 1/8 by 7 1/2 inches. Outstanding 1870's period Carved Cartouche
Up for auction is a one highly carved Walnut cartouche. This carved cartouche was most likely from a Victorian Headboard. If you need a very nice period embellishment for your bed or Victorian project. look no further. Cartouche is in great shape but does have a nick on the edge of the rounded center medallion. Outstanding 1870's period Highly Carved Walnut Pediment
Up for auction is a sweet Victorian Pediment that has been further embellished with a Victorian period Roman Soldier Soldier. This pediment will make quite an impressive room greater with its wonderful old age espresso colored Walnut and burled veneers. Pediment is in excellent condition. Pediment is 44" wide at bottom and 48" wide at the top. Inside dimensions are 39"10/16" wide x 14" tall. Pediment is 23" tall to the ends and 4.5" deep at ends. The center statue adds another 2" of bump-out for about 6.5" of dimensional quality. If this is on the top of a door header you will need 17.5" of space above the door opening to fit this piece. Up for auction is very long 61" long Victorian Era Mahohany Pediment. Pediment would make a great doorway header. Pediment is 61" long x 56.25" opening. It is 12.5" tall x 3.75" deep. If this piece is wanted for flat mounting. The thick cap would need to be removed and trimmed or reattached with a greater overhang on the front end. Up for your consideration is 6 antique vintage ornate carved wood pediments. Nice pieces with a beautiful raised ornate design and flower. I belive they were on the top back of a set of 6 chairs. 4 are curved and 2 are flat. They measure about 11" long. And from peg to peg inside measures about 5 1/4" They could used a good cleaning and they do have a few dings, scuffs, marks, so please see all photos for more description. 1 has a small chip off the bottom corner as shown in photo. Beautiful Oak Pediment with carved leaves and burl embellishments. Also Eastlake spoon type carving on the ends that also have a hint of the Art Nouveau look! There is a arch in the middle that shows that it is attached with dowels. Not nails. Also the top(or could be the bottom if you like) has a ledge that is 1 5/8" wide. Beautiful Vintage Carved Wood Pediment Angel or Cherub in Center Over Door? I didn’t have a lot of time to shop this week because of visiting relatives. But I found some awesome pieces regardless, and I’ll be going to my favorite flea market this weekend, so I’ll have a boatload of items, fingers crossed, that will be new. I appreciate your business! This is a beautiful piece. What I have is a vintage carved wood pediment- with carved scrolls and what appear to be tulip flowers and what I believe to be either an angel or a cherub in the center. With rays around its head. This is a piece that can stand alone- but you could certainly hang it on a wall too, if you wanted to add hardware to do so. I'm showing in several photos that the back piece is actually made up of two pieces of wood(you can see the seam at the back, and under the face, ... moreit's hard to notice really anywhere, though, unless you are looking for it) and the face is applied to the top of the backpiece. It's hard to tell for sure, as there are no spots of finish wear to see with any certainty, but I do believe that the face is made from wood also. It feels and thunks like wood to me, but please supersize my photos and see what you think. It is painted a creamy white color(not white white, it has more cream to it than white-white) and you can see at the back that there appears to be a former color of gold on the piece- that's lots of peeks of the gold at the back, but not at the front. There are small spots of finish wear on the front of the piece- hence the"shabby" in my title, but they are small- there's no large spots of finish loss. The back was not ever painted for show, but you can see that it has some paint on it, both the white and the gold. The piece measures 32 1/2" long, 5 7/8" tallest at the center and the wood is 1" at its thickest on either end, and 2 1/2" thick at the face part- from the very back to the highest point on the face. Lovely Old Vintage Carved Solid Tiger Oak Wood Standing Pediment Piece or? I didn’t have a lot of time to shop this week because of visiting relatives. But I found some awesome pieces regardless, and I’ll be going to my favorite flea market this weekend, so I’ll have a boatload of items, fingers crossed, that will be new. I appreciate your business! This one has more questions than answers for me! Of course. What caught my attention about it right away, was the beautiful tiger graining of the oak- my favorite wood. Also, I'm calling it vintage, but I do think that it could be old enough to be antique, finally, what da-heck is it? I'm calling it a pediment, but did it used to be a part of a furniture, or architectural piece? I don't know, it will be for you to decide! Now, I want to point out that the oak base that it is attached ... moreto on the front I do not think is original. I think that was added later so that the piece can stand on its own- and it does, while on a flat surface- I had to take if off of my rug to show you(hence, the photo on my sidewalk) as the rug was too bumpy for it to stand independently. The wood is solid, not veneer, and you can see the quartersawn graining at the back too. The piece has simple hand carved details that have been painted(on the insides and borders) in a dark red. I see peeks of the red on the sides of the piece too, but it's quite worn in many spots on the side, so it's only in peeks- you see more of the wood underneath, there. I did notice that the insides of the two cutouts in the piece either were once all red, as I think the sides were, or they were left unfinished and you can see some of the border red on the cutouts- it's hard to tell for sure, and you have to be up looking inside the cutouts to notice- that's what I was trying to do for you in photo 13. The piece is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The finish is a semi gloss varnish, and you can see spots of wear to that and the stain- very minor. I'm showing in photos 8& 9 tha

The pediment is made of solid wood, stained a brown color with a shabby look, and hand craved design with an art nouveau style, and has a carved beveled edging. This is a superb mid 19thc mahogany wood pediment. Dating c.1860. The attention to carved detail on this pediment is excellent and very beautiful. The pediment is ornately and intricately carved with fine scrolling and pierced detail. To the centre the pediment has a leaf carved centrally with horned shaped carvings flanking. Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It was originally part of a piece of furniture. It is made of walnut and is unpainted. There is a wonderful carved crest along the top. There are heavy raised molding at the top and along the bottom. The body has carvings in the middle and an applied raised panel at the left side. There was a panel on the right side also but it is missing. It measures 39.5 inches wide by 23 tall. It is 4 inches deep. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning but should clean up nicely. The carved piece in the middle is faced with burled walnut veneer. The veneer is coming up and some is missing. Please look at the pictures carefully. Lovely Antique Late 1800s Hand Carved Wood Pediment Turned Wall Decor So. I went to the auction of a lifetime this past weekend. A storage barn of an antiques dealer that passed about 10 years ago. She specialized in early primitives and American folk art and boy-oh-boy you do not want to miss this week. I took photos of the items that I bought for one full day, and still am not finished– but decided to go ahead and list what I have– enjoy! This one is sooooo pretty. And if you don't want it for wall decor. It's as simple as removing the hanger that the dealer put on the back! It's an antique pediment with lovely hand carved detail. I don't know if it started life as an architectural piece, or a furniture piece, but it will be yours to decide. It measures 19 5/8" long top to bottom and is 8 1/4" at its widest- the ... morecenter. It is 1 7/8" deep there at the center, but measuring from the very back of the piece, to the farthest sticking out part of the piece(the top, which angles out) it measures 4" deep there. It weighs 1 3/4 lbs and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally. The patina is dark and yummy! You can see rustic wear to the wood and finish all over- very minor- scratches, scrapes,teenie holes, nicks, dings, light spots, dark spots and finish wear down to the wood(see photos 4&7 where you can see lighter, small finish wear spots) You can see two nails at the top. And some holes at the back from when it was mounted originally. The back gives some indiaction of its old life too, as you can see that it's lighter at the bottom than at the top. Two Architectural Antique Wood Pediments These highly carved walnut wood pediments were rescued from a massive 19thC Victorian sideboard cabinet Although of different lengths. Each is carved with the same intricate leaf and berry design at the top corners The smaller cornice is near Perfect! ~ Squared across the top with a charming raised. Beveled arc that is accented with a band of carved leaves 16" wide x 8 1/4" long x 1 5/8" deep As you can see. The longer piece has been damaged Approximately 2 3/4" has broken away from the right end It's a clean break& perhaps the other end could be cut to match ~ In addition.
