Large Wood Architectural Finials
Pair of old hand turned finials for stair posts. Railings or? These are made of either fir or pine and although similar each is different. They are about 12" high and 4" across. There is some checking and minor chipping(see photo) I bought a few of these in the 1980's from a Virginia lumber mill that was going out of business and I was told then that they had been in inventory for 20 years+. They are sound with some age checking and could be used for their original purpose or as decorative elements. The pair pictured is not necessarily the pair that you will receive.

This attic fresh discovery features 9 mid to late 1800s hand turned solid walnut Victorian architectural finials. Most likely intended for window treatments or portiere rods. Each finial is slightly different(hand turned) and retains its original French polish surface with dirt and scratches with minor chips. There are 3 pair, each measuring 6-6 1/8” tall x 3 ½” maximum diameter with 2 ½ base diameter. A smaller companion finial measures 5” x 3” x 2” A fourth pair of dramatic pointed finials measures 5 3/8” x 3” x 2 3/8” base diameter. Several retain the original screw mounts; most are without. Up for sale is a Lot of previuosly owned decorative wood finials. Made by Global Views Inc. Tallest one is 19" Shortest one is 15 3/4" and the third one measures in the middle of the other two. They make quite the statement standing on the mantle or corner table. They do have signs of previous ownership. They have some light scuffs, light flaking of laquer and some dings. The tallest one of the bunch has the most of said issues. I encourage you to ask any questions before deciding to purchase. All Items sold AS-IS. No returns, unless item is not as described.
