Stylized arms are bent at the elbows with the forearms projecting forward; the incised fingers are clenched tightly into a fist. The facial features are highly abstracted, with a long, delicately carved nose running down from high upon the brow. The large eyes reflect a serene countenance, seemingly contrary to the rigidity of the body. There is a south Arabian inscription on the base, which retains some of the original ochre pigment. Condition, is fully intact and smooth all over which makes for an excellent wear today. Its band is simple and elegant and its rounded bezel bears the crisp symbolic carvings of five stars surrounding a crescent moon in the middle. A dark, natural patina is retained all over with light earthen encrustations which have settled within the hollow carvings and in areas within the band. Identification of the Gods and Goddesses with heavenly bodies— planets and stars. Besides Sun and Moon— and to assigning the seats of all the deities in the Heavens is found in Assyro-Babylonian religion.
