An ancient Canaanite Bronze Age"lugged chisel" axe of beautiful form and with a wonderful patina. Dating to the Middle Bronze IIB: 1750-1550 BC. Of slender construction, these artefacts are striking in their sleek simplicity. A beautifully preserved example. The axe head of Lugged Chisel type with long tapering blade. Widening at the front sharp edge, concave oblong socket at the rear, and hook bending towards the blade below the socket. Fine decorative ridges along the upper and lower contour of the axe. Ancient Persian Luristan Bronze Age Horse Bit - 1000 BC
A genuine ancient Persian Bronze Age horse bit. Dating to approximately 1000- 800 B.C. Luristan bronze working is renowned as being amongst the highest quality of all metalwork from the ancient world, this remarkable piece is a particularly attractive and well preserved example. The bronze horse-bit comprising a square-section bar with loop terminals. The cheek pieces cast in the form of abstracted horses. With long tails and reins depicted and having two loops at the top. A variety of cheek-pieces decorated Luristan horse-bits, and the composite creatures decorating this example are very characteristic of the region. This striking piece was produced by the expert bronze working society known to us as the Luristans. And would have originally formed part of the burial contents of an elite Persian warrior. As found at an estate auction- from a private collection a rare ancient brass medallion. Which was found in a tomb in the middle east. The medallion is 3" long by 3" wide and 1/8" thick. On the front among a lot of designs there are also horoscope emblems. There is also a raised design at the back of the medallion. From what I found out I believe it used to belong to a sailor merchant. Excellent for a collector of antiquities.

The tablet states that Buzāzu bought a house in Kāniš from a group of people who are satisfied with the price and nobody will make any claim against Buzāzu in this matter in the future. A well sculpted and cast Luristan bronze attachment or pendant showing a couchant Caprid or Ibex with a suspension loop dating from roughly 800 BC. It may have functioned as part of a cheekpiece or harness ring. The concave base( see pic 2) may indicate its function as a component of a whetstone handle assembly. An ancient Near Eastern bronze figure of an embracing couple seated on horseback. Produced around 1000 BC, possibly in Luristan. A rare, tender and beautifully abstract scene. The figures reduced to the essence of form. Their features anonymous, but with their hands looped round to meet at the centre. Both seated on a horse, the animals legs and tail have been shorted though the head is large and stylised, with lightly incised eyes and reins running from the mouth. This wonderful piece has a touching humanity that transcends age or culture. The artist has intentionally disregarded the need for figural accuracy. Using this absence to emphasise the emotive nature of the scene. In a sense the detail is unimportant, rather the love and affection takes precedence.
