30 Sahara Neolithic relics - tools, celt, beads, and 1 paleolithic tool.
This group of 30 Sahara Neolithic relics is composed of diverse types of relics. Which were discovered on ancient habitation sites deep in the western Sahara desert, mostly in the vicinity of northern Muaratania/Mali but also includes two trianglar Eiffel Tower points from Algeria(top second from right and the one right beneath it) This group consist of several types and subtypes of projectile points from varying periods of the Neolithic era. Including ovate, stemmed, triangular, and unifacial tool forms. In all there are 16 stone projectile points and tools, 10 hard-stone beads(mostly quartz disc beads) one pottery bead(western Mauratania) one hardstone celt, and a cylindrical labret of quartz thought to be used in body piercing or lips or ears. Not perfect, tt may have ancient damge, hard to tell but stil nice. There is one unifacil blade ... moreseen at the bottom row to the right is from the late Mesolithic era or early Neolithic Morocco. Dating to approximately 7,000 years Before Present. At the upper right you will see an Auterian tool. This is the earlier known type of stone tool with a stem for hafting. Probably to serve as a knife/scrapper. It is classic form with a tipped which is worked around for scrapping(not broken) This relic is a good 30,000 years old, possibly much older. This is one of the more diverse offering of ancient Sahara relics you will find. The shortest point is a triangle of 5/8th inch(17 mm) long. The longest tool is a nice tan Mesolithic period blade. Is 2 13/16th inches(71 mm) long. The celt is 1 inches(26 mm) long. Heel to bit. It has been worked down to a stubby form with a bit dulled from usage. Th ese are everyday work tools and adornments used. And lost or discarded by our Neolithic and earlier hunter-gatherer ancestors. They are all honest, authentic relics in good shape, some will exhibit minor ancient damage(as seen in he photograph) Such as dings, usually to tips, tangs, and/or barbs to stemmed points. Small dings are to be expected given their delicacy, usage, and 4

Ten Neanderthal Jasper Mousterian Blades from Fontmaure France
Ten Absolute Stunning and beautiful rare Neanderthal Blades from The Famous Neanderthal Site Fontmaure. France Perfect condition. All used pieces with clear user retouche/ flaking to the cutting edges Meassures +- 5 cm/ 2 inch Middle Paleolithic 80.000– 40.000 BP Fontmaure is one of the most famous prehistoric sites in the world. It is located in the Vienne region. In the middle of France. Artifacts from Fontmaure have been dated 40.000-80.000 years and are fashioned by the Neanderthal people. The unique and extremely beautiful artifacts are often made of jasper. This jasper is only found at this site and makes these tools unique in the world. The small and intensively occupied site of Fontmaure was located directly on exposure of high quality jasper. The coincidence between raw material and the occurrence of this intensively occupied open-air ... moresites is one of the most striking characteristics of Middle Paleolithic site distributions in SW France. Dolni Vestonice Venus : 29,000 – 25,000 BCE
Venus of Dolni Vestonice. South Moravia, the Czech Republic, Europe Plastics copy of the ceramic original. Is absolutely impossible to get any original venus(its price is at least 500 million $) So every collector can have copies only. This one is directly made from the original. The Venus of Dolní Věstonice is a ceramic sculpture of a woman. It is estimated to be 25.000- 29,000 years old, and thus falls into the Gravettian. The sculpture was found during extensive archaeological excavations headed by Karel Absolon in 1924– 1938 in Dolní Věstonice in Moravia. In what is now the district of Břeclav. The excavations revealed a mammoth hunters’ camp from the Stone Age. The sculpture is 11.5 cm high and at its widest point. Around the pelvis, it measures 4.3 cm. Some parts of the body have been sliced very credibly, while others are ... moreonly obscurely disguised. The throat was not modeled at all, while the hands and feet are only hinted at. Less care was taken over the face. The eyes are just two small slits. When carving the figure the artist paid special attention to those parts of the body associated with sexuality. Or fertility, i.e. the breasts, vulva, and abdomen. There are varied interpretations of the Venus of Dolní Věstonice. Some deduce it as a symbol of fertility or the sexual. Others say that the Venus of Dolní Věstonice is a cryptogram representing the synthesis of the symbol of womanhood on the lower parts of the body(the legs in the shape of a triangle) and the symbol of manhood on the upper part of the body(the head thrust forward and the sagging breasts beneath it) It could also portrayed a heavenly body or could also be related to magic. A tomograph scan in 2004 found a fingerprint of a child estimated at between 7 and 15 years of age. Fired into the surface.

SCRAPER FLINT"Paris Basin"Middle Paleolithic MOUSTERIAN FRENCH PREHISTORY
flint blond white patina of the Paris Basin Middle Paleolithic. period of the Mousterian type of debitage Levallois method.SIZE 52 MM ref 445 100.000 TO 30.000 BC most of them are Middle Paleolithic. some are Upper Paleolithic and some of its objects are some early Neolithic. But the definition is difficult. because I was often asked the same question about the age I said it's actually quite easy. The patina is the result of an alteration of flint blond by particular component of the earth in this region. is an extremely long process. on some parts, it reaches 1/ 2 mm. it's a good way of dating but not infallible it depends on the burial environment. on flint dating back three or four thousand years is superficial alteration of tenth of a millimeter, but it is decreasing which mean it takes longer in the second tenth. you can see ... morethe example photo of a cut in slices and the patina over two millimeters. not in sale) COMBINE SHIPPING wikipedia.org/wiki/Moustérien. a 29.5 inch 75cm strand of large ancient neolithic shell beads mali #27
A strand of ancient neolithic large shell beads from Mali. West Africa. Who knows how old these beads are, shell beads have been found in Africa that are estimated to be 75,000 years old. I would guess them to be neolithic to paleolithic. The beads have calcified because they have been buried for thousands of years, this causes them to be softer than the more recent ones. I have rinsed them in clear water to remove the white powdery residue. The condition is very good. T he beads measure in diameter 8 mm to 18.6 mm and in length 10 mm to 42.7 mm. The length of the strand is 29.5 inches. 75 cm. The picture is enlarged to show detail, please refer to the measurements for the actual size. Ancient Chinese Jade "Yuan"--Liangzhu Dyn. Portal to Heaven! 5,000 Years Old!
Houghton USA Ancient Art. Antiques, Fine Collectables Ancient Chinese Jade Disk or“Yuan” Portal to Heaven c. 3500 BC—2100 BC Liangzhu Culture Original& Authentic! A gentleman always carried a jade pendant. As a symbol of class and to remind him the virtues of a gentleman, since those virtues were found in jade. Confucius This Chinese Jade disk was made approximately 5.000 years ago in ancient China. This ritual disk is called a“ Yuan" in Chinese and measures 2.5" in diameter and weighs about 1.2 oz. or 35 grams. Heaven was represented by the ancient Chinese in a tangible form by a perforated disk of jade. Called a Yuan in Chinese. That has a small hole in the center. It was believed that such a ritual jade token was closely connected with the powers of Heaven by means of its magical properties. This wonderful Chinese“ Yuan” ... morewas thought to be tool to communicate with the gods and departed ancestors in Heaven. Yuan’s were made of jade in the shape of a circle with a hole in the center that would allow the emperor to directly communicate with Heaven. The ancient Chinese believed that Yuan’s served as a communication portal between man and his ancestors and Gods in Heaven. Therefore. The Emperor or War Lord, being the Son of Heaven, was able to communicate and consult with Heaven through the medium of the jade disk. Shamans could also use the Yuan’s powers to communicate with departed ancestors and the Gods in Heaven. The Yuan was literally a portal or oracle to the Heavens. Prayers could be sent and answered via this Yuan pendant or amulet. This Yuan was also meant to protect the departed soul from evil spirits on its journey to everlasting life in Heaven. Based upon the carving style of the Chinese characters. The subject matter and genre, plus the weathering and patina of the jade, plus similar objects in the Arthur M. Sackler Asian Gallery, Smithsonian, in Washington, D.C. I would suggest that this lovely pendant was made during approximately the Liangzhu Culture of ancient China, which lasted from

Time Life Emergence of Man First Men Habilis Neanderthal Australopithecus Boisei
Time-Life TheEmergence of Man Series– The First Man. CONDITION: Light shelf wear. Otherwise in Very Good condition. Never read, Ready to Ship. PLEASE SEE IMAGES BELOW FOR JACKET DESCRIPTION(S) AND FOR PAGES OF PICTURES FROM INSIDE OF BOOK. DESCRIPTION: Hardcover: 160 pages. Publisher: Time-Life Books Inc. 1972) The“Emergence of Man” series was released in the mid-1970’s. Each volume undertakes to describe the major events that happened in one specific time period in the development of mankind’s civilization(s) The volumes are richly illustrated. And designed as an introduction to the time frame covered. Especially compelling are the artists interpretations or recreations of what various ancient civilizations would have looked like– their architecture, homes, monuments, cities, daily life, jewelry, food, family life, dwellings, occupations, ... moreetc. As just one instance, the ruins of Babylon and Ur, Athens and Rome hint at the incredible richness of those fabled cities. The artist’s recreations in this series are simply mind- numbing. This is as close as you can be to actually having been there. The entire series is truly a magnificent introduction to the history of the era. If you could have just one book(or series of books) to introduce the history of humankind. This would have to be it. The overviews are concise and well-written. Together with the illustration and pictures they impart a wonderful mental and emotional“picture” of what life must have been like in various civilizations and at various times. Done in a style so wonderfully characteristic of Time-Life’s publications, these are over-sized“coffee table” type books full of impressive imagery. The pictures of the world’s greatest art and architecture alone are worth the cost of these books. But don’t get the impression that these volumes are“fluff” While a particular volume might not quite take the place as a university degree, the material is well-written, informative, and immensely intellectually gratifying, overview though it might be. Ancient Prehistoric Stone Age Neolithic Flint Danish Dagger Scandinavian
A beautiful. Extremely rare and well provenanced neolithic dagger, dating to approximately 2300- 2000 B.C. and found in Scandinavia. This beautiful chip stone tool was made from a large piece of flint. Broken down and then chipped into form, the attractive surface flaking was created by the use of a soft hammer, likely made from bone, or antler. Beautiful stitching marks, clearly showing where each chip was removed by the ancient knapper. The emergence of flint daggers in late neolithic Scandinavian cultures is seen as a fascinating response to new technology being used in the production of bronze daggers in central Europe. From the 3rd millennium onwards. This new metal weaponry clearly made an impression on the surrounding cultures of this period, who began to make flint copies, and who's influence can be seen through their stylistic ... moresimilarities. This fascinating early flint implement. Dates to the north-west European Neolithic period(approx 4000-2000 B.C. This period saw the dawn of civilization, when Early man was leaving the Hunter-Gatherer lifestyle towards a more sedentary, farm-oriented existence. This transition is one of the overwhelming achievements of man, enabling food surplus and the rise of civilization. Length: 4 3/4 inches. Condition: Good. Tip and handle of dagger broken, old collection label, likely bearing the find site, still attached. Provenance: An extremely well provenanced piece. From the collection of James Curle(1862-1944) of Melrose, Scotland, and thence by descent. Although a lawyer by profession, Curle was an accomplished amateur archaeologist and his name remains one of the most famous in the field of Romano-British Archaeology, having excavated and published extensively in the early 1900's. From 1888-1903 Curle acquired the most magnificent collection of Nordic antiquities outside Scandinavia, eventually selling most of his pieces to the British Museum in 1921. The Curle collection in the British Museum has been the subject of numerous publications and remains an important

Nice Neolithic Stemmed Point from the Sahara Desert
This is a nice Neolithic Stemmed Point found in the Sahara Desert. Africa. It measures 1-5/8" x 5/8" This will be an excellent addition to your Neolithic collection. Always Guaranteed Authentic! The Neolithic cultures in Africa existed 4.000- 6,000 years ago(possibly older as some new evidence suggest) throughout regions of the Sahara desert. Before the Sahara was a desert these groups thrived in its vast grasslands and fruitful jungles. Today little in known about these lost people. The sands are constantly shifting moving the sites and artifacts to different areas. Due to the sand changes, archaeological studies are very slim. Sites shift, tumble and move so there is no layering to study. Collector Grade artifacts are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. Kevin Pipes has been in the business of collecting artifacts since ... morehe was child and has been selling them for at least 30 years. He is well established in the artifact and knife communities. He can be found in the Who's Who for Indian Artifact Collectors and pieces of his collection have been featured in several books and archaeological journals. He is also distinguished by being one of the first African Neolithic collectors and importers. Since he founded Smoky Mountain Relic Room in Sevierville. TN he has handled and sold over 1,000,000 Neolithic artifacts from different regions in Africa. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your purchase please send it back for your choice of a refund or exchange. Our only fine print for returns is that we do not refund shipping and that the item must be returned in the condition it arrived.

FOUND CORNWALL UK A superb beautiful collection of neolithic circa 5000-2000BC flint tools which fit wonderful in the hand Carefully crafted edges. Still incredibly edged and functional Found Cornwall UK in the 1970s Wonderful authentic neolithic examples. A rare complete collection The neolithic period began around 6.000 years ago when humans first settled down and began farming. They continued to make tools from flint and some kinds of tools, such as scrapers for preparing hides, stayed the same. But the neolithic also saw the introduction ... moreof new kinds of stone tool Chipped stone tools are made from materials such as chert or flint. Radiolarite, chalcedony, basalt, quartzite and obsidian via a process known as lithic reduction. One simple form of reduction is to strike stone flakes from a core using a hammerstone If the goal of the reduction strategy is to produce flakes. The remnant core may be discarded once it has become too small to use. In some strategies, however, a flintknapper reduces the core to a rough unifacial or bifacial preform, which is further reduced using soft hammer flaking techniques or by pressure flaking the edges. More complex forms of reduction include the production of highly standardized tools, which can then be fashioned into a variety of implements such as scrapers, sickles and microliths Please see photos for exact condition Low start and no reserve I aim for no less than 5 star feedback on all my items. Please be aware that by bidding on this item you are agreeing to the postage charges and that they are the lowest I can charge for packaging etc. I have a full refund policy should any item not be as described. 3 Archaic Neolithic Bronze Ax Trade Money Adze Laos Lao Artifact Axe
Here are THREE very nice Neolithic Bronze Ax Heads found in Laos. They would have been hafted for fine woodworking. But as bronze would have also been used in trade, dowries or monetary exchange like bars and coins would be in later times. They are 2.25, 2 and 1.75 inches in length. Farmers find these when they plow fields where there were archaic settlements and bring them to the morning market. They clean the crusty green verdigris from them to expose the bronze which is comprised of native copper and tin. NOTE: One of the axes was crimped by a farm implement when plowed up from a field(see second pic) Please note the shipping cost is $10 for Registered International Airmail from BANGKOK. 3 x Neolithic Flint Tools - 4000BC (075)
3 x Neolithic Flint Tools Material: Flint Colour: Various Type: Various Age: 4000BC Area: Sahara 5p(18mm) to give indication of size and not included in the auction. I have personally handled over 10.000 of these'flints' during my collecting over the last 10 years. The majority of flints on the market today were found in North West Africa. This is not a reflection on the density of usage of these items but more a reflection of the areas current climate- being very arid it makes it easier to find these items. The Sahara is the world's largest hot desert. Over 9,000,000 km²(3,500,000 mi²) almost as large as the United States. The Sahara is located in northern Africa and is 2.5 million years old. Its name, Sahara, is an English pronunciation of the word for desert in Arabic. The boundaries of the Sahara are the Atlantic ... moreOcean on the west. The Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea on the north, the Red Sea and Egypt on the east, and the Sudan and the valley of the Niger River on the south. The Sahara is divided into western Sahara, the central Ahaggar Mountains, the Tibesti Mountains, the Aïr Mountains(a region of desert mountains and high plateaus) Tenere desert and the Libyan desert(the most arid region) The highest peak in the Sahara is Emi Koussi(3415 m) in the Tibesti Mountains in northern Chad. The Sahara divides the continent of Africa into North and Sub-Saharan Africa. The southern border of the Sahara is marked by a band of semiarid savanna called the Sahel; south of the Sahel lies the lusher Sudan and the Congo River Basin. During the Late Neolithic period(approx 4000BC– 2000BC) the Sahara had a much wetter climate(sometimes known as the Aqualithic) and was akin to modern day North America. Arrowheads are typically collected and traded by the local nomadic peoples of the Sahara. They find them as the sand dunes move and they travel around seasonally grazing their herds. Finding and collecting items such as these provides them with a reasonable, stable income. Payment via Paypa

Amazing Rare Handaxe Chisel, Paleolithic Lower Acheulian 800.000 - 400.000 BC
Amazing Rare Handaxe Chisel. Paleolithic Lower Acheulian 800.000- 400.000 BC Description Type: handaxe: chisel on pebble Paleolithic Period. Industry: Lower Palaeolithic. Lower Acheulian. Dating: archaeological research in Western Europe proved that the European continent has been conquested as early as 1.3 to 1,1 Mio years(finds of Atapuerca/ Spain) Early Pleistocene. The assignment of the oldest human finds at Atapuerca to a particular early human species as Homo erectus or Homo antecessor is still controversial. As controversially discussed is the earliest date of permanent colonization of Europe, and good dating of the high gravel terraces of southern French rivers is still lacking. So we suggest an estimated time frame of approx. 800.000 to 400.000 BC. Description: Size: length 14.6 cm, width 11,0 cm, thickness 6,2 cm, weight 1030 grams, ... moreShape. Retouch: a rare type of handaxe with respect to European sites(chisels are much more commonly found at African sites) and an amazing specimen. It is made on pebble. And facial flaking is mirrored. Each face has a cortical area at the right edge, the rest of the face is retouched. Facial flaking is significant on the face shown first, even with some edge flaking, while the other face presents only few large flake scars. Working edge at the distal end is wedge-shaped and straight(the edge between the two black lines in picture 7) and each face has a“chisel-blow” a flake scar struck from the distal end. Raw-material: a pebble out of grey quartzite. The most common raw-material on the Garonne terraces, Preservation: very well: the surface is somewhat weathered. But flake scars are well defined. Two small flat recent chips at the distal part of the left edge of the first face, while the scar at the edge in picture 2 seems to be genuine old. Additional Information. Literature: The pebble tools found on the high gravel terraces of the Garonne. Tarn and Aveyron river are among the earliest tools found in Europe. Lit: A. Tavoso, Le Paléolithique supérieur et moyen

The field of Sahara Neolithic Artifacts was expanded by the advent of GPS technology for meteorite hunters in the Sahara Desert. Thousands of years ago North Africa was a temperate environment similar to our own Great Plains. Countless generations of Stone-Age Man lived. Hunted, fought and died there, leaving behind their weapons and tools. Today, North Africa consists largely of the Sahara Desert, an inhospitable area almost the size of the United States. Constantly shifting sands and the ability to now safely travel off of established trade routes have expanded this fascinating field of study by making these artifacts available to scholars and collectors around the world.
