CLASSIC INDUS VALLEY SEALS CLASSIC INDUS SEALS Mohenjo-Daro 2500 BC Stone tablets. Quartzite-limestone composite, 1.25 inches square(30 mm) one inch(25 ... moremm) on black acrylic mount, with display stand& back-label ID. Museum replicas from the Indus Seals Collection of Pakistan's Islamabad Museum. classic Indus Valley seals recovered from Mohenjo Daro during the 1930's. As was the custom. Indus Valley pictographs record a proverb of the day in a language which remained undeciphered until the turn of the century. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND The ancient Veddic civilization of the Indus Valley at Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa arose in western India contemporary with Sumeria around 3000 BC and flourished until tectonic changes caused the great river to change direction around 1500 BC. Indus seals were used differently to the text-and-seal administration of Mesopotamia and generally assumed the form of an amulet with a cryptic saying or religious proverb. The evidence of wear and abrasion shows their main use was visual identification and giving legitimacy to the owner rather than making numerous impressions. The language is considered a close relative of the mysterious pictographic script used by the Elamites and was finally deciphered by the aging German linguist Kurt Schildman in the late 1990’s. Who related it to the surviving pictographic scripts of East Asia and Korea and found it displayed a language style remarkably similar to Old Persian. Schildman’s students have now published translations of many of the seals revealing the Indus Valley’s true Veddic origins. SAFE& SECURE PAYPAL PARCELS ARE SHIPPED FLAT RATE AIRMAIL FROM AUSTRALIA. Allowing for customs. Usual TRANSIT TIME is about 8 to 10 DAYS. Parcels are WELL PACKED to ensure safe delivery. Usually recycled boxes and dispatched soon after payment confirmation. You will be NOTIFIED BY EMAIL. Ask for COMBINED POSTAGE with MULTIPLE PURCHASES. Ask for"EXPRESS POST" if international Tracking Number required. For HEAVY parcels. Less expensive SEA MAIL

ANCIENT INDUS VALLEY TERRACOTTA BULL c 3000 BC . VOTIVE FIGURE . GLAZED
In my opinion a most interesting example of c 3000 bc INDUS VALLEY. HAND MADE POTTERY: A VERY FINE VOTIVE BULL FIGURE, WITH LARGE HORNS, TRADITIONAL"HUMP" BACK AND TAIL. This examplke has an unusual almost"salt glazed" feel, with a veined, irregular texture to the body of the bull: you will see from the pictures that the colour is a mixture of browns, red-browns. The figure obviously is an interesting reference example. I bought this from an Antiquity dealer at Bartlet Street Antiques Centre, Bath, in the late 1990's. The item is in fine reference order. Both horns have been rstored. With breaks to both, there is also a small amount of slice fritting/nibble chipping to the hump of the bull. No restoration or further damage.Combined postage offered. Height at 4.85 inches. Length is at 4.5 inches and depth at 2 inches. ... moreI will happily ship to China and Brazil. But only with the tracked signed for option. Terms& Conditions of sale included within the"ME" section of ebay.

Ancient Indus Valley pottery from Afghanistan. Excellent condition 100% authentic no restoration. no repair no clean! The Indus Valley civilization was rediscovered in 1920-21 when engraved seals were unearthed in the Punjab province of Pakistan at a site called Harappa. A name which is often used to describe the civilization as a whole. Subsequent excavations at Harappa revealed the size and complexity of this ancient city. Other sites were unearthed as well along the banks of the Indus River, including the equally large city of Mohenjodaro. Through archaeological and historical research, we can now say for certain that a highly developed urban civilization ... moreflourished in the Indian subcontinent over five thousand years ago. Though the Indus Valley script remains undeciphered, the numerous seals, statuary, and pottery discovered during excavations, not to mention the urban ruins, have enabled scholars to construct a reasonably plausible account of the Indus Valley civilization Product: ANCIENT CUP FROM INDUS VALLEY. Ancient Indus Valley Terracotta Bird Fertility Deity Statue Idol Figure - 3000BC
An ancient Indus Valley pottery head. Dating to the fourth millennium BC and produced in the city of Mehrgarh, one of the most important Neolithic sites in all of world archaeology. This vivid. Enigmatic piece likely represents a fertility goddess. The figure is shown in confidently modelled detail with deep-set eyes, zoomorphic features and a bird-like appearance. Missing the body. The Indus Valley Culture flourished throughout large areas of modern India and Pakistan during the 3rd Millennium BC. Along the flood plains of the Indus, a river flowing from its headwaters in the Himalayan Mountains. Along with Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia it was one of three early civilizations of the Old World, and of the three the most widespread. The roots of our own urban civilisation lie in the remarkable developments that took place during this period. ... moreAlthough remote in time and place, this urban revolution, first represented by the formation of cities in areas such as the Indus Valley, must be looked upon as one of humanity's defining moments. This piece is a fascinating and striking remnant from this momentous period. Length: 1 3/4 inches. Condition: A fragment. Missing the body. Provenance: Ex. British private collection. Please note: This is a genuine ancient Indus Valley artefact. Offered for sale without reserve to promote our extensive inventory of ancient coins and antiquities.
