Beautiful Bronze Luristan Officer's Sword and Dagger 1200 - 800 BC
Up for sale are two well preserved pieces of Persian history. The two items for sale are a Luristan short sword and an accompanying dagger. Likely wielded by an officer between 1200 and 800 BC. These two items come from a private collection originally purchased back in the 1950's which was then purchased by my father and I about five years ago as part of a numismatic(coin) collection contained within an estate sale. The original tags are still attached as originally appraised back from the 1950's dealer who sold it. Dimensions can be seen in the picture attached which puts the sword at just over 20" long and the dagger at just around 10" in length. You will also notice that there is a hairline fracture visible on the short sword. It was determined that the sword, not long after it was made, experienced a breakage while likely ... morebeing used in battle. The blade was repaired around the same time period and has oxidized evenly with the rest of the bronze material contained in the blade. Inlays and gemstones were also likely to have existed at some point as well but I do not know if such speculation is accurate. These pieces belong in a museum but I have enjoyed them long enough and want to move onto something else. Enjoy.

Burnished dark grey pottery jar from Caspian Sea area, c. 1200-800 BC
A dark grey burnished bag-shaped jar from the Caspian Sea area(Khorvin) Some simple incised decoration on one side. c. 1200-800 BC. Height 14cms and maximum width 17cms. Intact apart from two small chips on the rim. Good preservation of the burnished decoration all over the jar. Ex Helios Gallery. UK; ex private collection: Sir Denis Wright, 1911-2005, acquired between 1963 and 1971. I will provide my usual lifetime guarantee of authenticity and COA to the buyer. Sadigh Gallery Mesopotamian Bronze Dagger 1200 BC- 800 BC. This is a true relic from the Bronze Age in history. This dagger comes with the Certificate of Authenticity from the Sadigh Gallery in New York City and guarantees the artifact to be from the period and date stated. The certificate is dated 10/17/2011. This 11” dagger features a thin blade with single raised ridge down the center of each side of the blade. A pair of zoomorphic figures decorates the hilt close to the weighed pommel. It dates approximately between 1200 BC- 800 BC. It is suspected to be of Persian origin. It is in excellent condition with a dark heavy weathered age patina. See Pictures for addition information.
