CARVED OAK PLATE RACK WALL HANGING UNUSUAL
old oak hanging plate rack. measures 43 1/2" long. 17" high and 6" deep. made of solid oak in old dark finish. I think someone has made this from parts of another piece of furniture. it does not appear to be a"factory" made production piece. therefore it is unique! it has 2 carved supports. One of which has been repaired, i.e. glued. it only has one hanger so you will need to have that put on. otherwise, it's ready for a new home. i can pack and ship, although it is fragile, for $50 Fedex or Greyhound.

LARGE Oak Archictectural Pediment Carved Figural Door Header Crest Jester Devil
Offered for your consideration is this truly fantastic figural carved oak architectural arch top pediment. The carved face looks like a Jester or devil. Very nice detail and expression. The wood is quarter sawed oak with very bold tiger grain. It dates from the late 19th century or early 20th century. Pretty good condition. No repairs or missing pieces. There is a split in the wood across the mouth area of the head and into the scroll carving. It measures about 7.5" tall. 42.5" long and 1.5" thick at the piece of wood that goes across the top. This is a beautiful salvage piece that has never been painted. It has ornate carved designs applied to it on each end and a wreath design in the center. Below are 3 recessed panels framed with beveled trim. In the outside 2, are raised beveled panels with acanthus leaf and round flower medallions. This pediment has some of the most unusual characteristics I have ever seen. The header has a wonderfully carved serpentine top. There are very ornate side carvings, and then those round metal grommets all along the pediment. Looks almost Medieval or Gothic with that Victorian twist. Near MINT condition! Authentic. 19th century, furniture header. Solid oak construction. Nice carving at each end with 3 turned spindles closer to middle. Above each spindle is a cannonball finial. Even further toward the middle are double half spindles. The center has a diamond shaped, acanthus medallion with a dramatic, beveled arch above. The arch has 4 button medallions with another finial on top. That finial sits atop more acanthus carving. It also stands freely, upright, on its own if required.Overall, a splendid Victorian design. DRAMATIC. Curved architectural salvage. Very rare to find arched pediment versus the much more common straight ones. Guaranteed to be circa 1800s. Solid quarter sawn oak construction. Countoured beveled trim all along the top. Then, directly under, are 15 repeating spindles. Directly below that is more beveled trim. Under the trim is leafy carvings that are pierced to the left and right of center. In between is a drop finial hanging below vertical grooves. It measures 40 inches long, 14 1/4 inches tall at ends and 8 3/4 inches tall in middle. Great ornate, Victorian design.There is one slight crack at far left, but wonderful overall condition. This listing is for an absolutely GORGEOUS long antique shelf. Oak is ALL tiger quartersawn wood. The entire shelf is oak and it's in wonderful condition with no damage. It came right off my own wall. It has sawtooth molding along front with no breakage or damage. It has two graceful brackets. Top is lovely and has a small oak edge strip to keep things from falling off. Measures 41" long and shelf top is 7" deep. Height is about 9" It would be ideal as a fireplace mantel because of the substantial length. Though I've used it to hold pottery and more substantial items. Grain is beautiful. I have always hung from two picture hangers wall. Has brackets on back which are new and strong. It's large but not so heavy that it is hard to manage.
