It has rolled sides and so me scrolls. It is in as-found condition and could use a bit of restoration or you could leave it just as is and it would make a wonderful display stroller for old bisque dolls or old teddy bears. Could use some glue on the back rest but the wicker itself is in remarkable condition considering how old it is and having n e ver been painted. The cushions are old and filled with excelsior. Obvioiusly. This old buggy is not perfect so please buy it as shown. It is really quite impressive in person and quite large. Rough measurements are about 45" long. 20" wide, 35" to top of handle. The back wheels are a big 22" in diame ter and the front wheels are 14" The wheels roll freely and smoothly. The undercarriage is metal with some old green paint and maybe some white pin striping.not sure. The parasol holder is on the handle. THERE ARE 25+ PICTURES PLEASE CHECK ALL OF THEM! It has rolled sides and so me scrolls. It is in as-found condition and could use a bit of restoration or you could leave it just as is and it would make a wonderful display stroller for old bisque dolls or old teddy bears. Could use some glue on the back rest but the wicker itself is in remarkable condition considering how old it is and having n e ver been painted. The cushions are old and filled with excelsior. Obvioiusly. This old buggy is not perfect so please buy it as shown. It is really quite impressive in person and quite large. Rough measurements are about 45" long. 20" wide, 35" to top of handle. The back wheels are a big 22" in diame ter and the front wheels are 14" The wheels roll freely and smoothly. Am listing this item for the Owner of the Antique Center. It measures approx. 36 1/2" tall by 43 1/2" long by 22" wide. The seat is 13" by 14" wide. The back of the seat is 15 1/4" high by 12" wide. The neat thing is that although the fabric has been nicely redone. It comes with a box where the original fabric, for both the carriage and the parasol, was stored in, to leave no doubt of its age. This item will be hard to pack and ship. So it will definitely have to be either picked up at Mount Vernon Antique Center here in Alexandria, or it will have to go via freight, we recommend TSC Moving, but keep in mind they can take from 2-8 weeks to deliver, depending on location and driver's schedule. This is a very nice antique Victorian baby/doll carriage. It has a wicker body. Wood handle, metal wheels, wood floor, and a needlepoint pillow. Its approx 36 inches long and approx 26 inches tall. The carriage area it self is 22 inches long and 10 inches wide. This has a very nice vintage look and is considered to be in good condition. Late 1800's Victorian Era Heywood Brothers Wicker Baby Carriage With Parasol
Beautiful Victorian era wicker Heywood Brothers baby carriage. In good condition for its age. It comes with the parasol, which is in very shabby condition. There are 2 small breaks in the wicker that can hardly be seen, but probably can be repaired. History/details about this carriage. It was made between the late 1880s-1898 and has its original upholstery and original stained rattan reed ball and stick framework and embellishments. The wire wheels are indicative of an older piece. You will also see a brake in the back that is applied to the back wheels to stop the carriage. And the steel rolled decoration below the basket base is actually a spring system to make for a comfortable ride. The seat is made of a close-woven cane webbing or sheet cane. Which probably had an upholstered seat that would have been placed on top of the sheet cane, to elevate the baby and take pressure off the cane by distributing the weight of the baby. Victorian Baby Cart Antique Wrought Iron, Wood and Wicker Usable Great!!!!!
Victorian baby cart or wagon. Wood. Wicker and wrought iron. Very solid condition ready for use or display. Wooden bench seat and wicker back. wooden foot rest. spoked wheels and rear metal wheels to keep it from tipping backwards. This is a very cool design. Leather seat cover has some wear and one hole and it is riveted to the wooden seat. Long wooden folding pull handle. Wicker back does have a couple of small breaks but is still very solid. 13" tall, 14" wide with handle extended it is 37" long. This is a great old cart. Good Luck! It was manufactured by the Heywood Brothers.The model is known as"The Heywood" it has a plack on the floor of the carriage) Its measurem ents are: 54"L from tip to tip. 24" W and 43"H from ground to its highest poin t. The carriage is in great condition. It will need some minor restoration, the floor cushion is missing, but it is still very displayable. Fortunately. All the wicker is great condition and there is no visible damage to it. The umbrella is missing, the attaching rod lock is still in place. The padding is a little faded. The burgundy pink color is in good condition, no tears, or rips or stains, just need a carriage floor cushion, one could be made easily.
