It looks as though that was the way it was made~to me. The thin black tires are worn down in spots, revealing the wire/metal that makes the wheel. The back of the buggy/carriage folds down(shown in picture) the front foot resting raises as well. In pausing to check over the buggy, to ensure the description is to the best of my ability~I have just discovered that the buggy folds up entirely.as if you are folding a stroller. Since I cannot add another picture without deleting one~if you are interested in this item, I will gladly send the picture of it folded to your email. The handle to push the buggy is weathered. It due to it's age naturally has the fading or rubbed down spots of the wood, markings, a couple slight cracks(not open) The wicker on the sides of this item, has only a couple little pieces of wicker missing(in two spots& they are not big) It's a beautiful piece, however keep in mind that it's still fragile. It's no longer crisp fresh wicker/wood. The coloring is fading/weathering throught the whole buggy~naturally giving it, it's antique unique look. These two items are as they were for years~together. Off white wood with 2 little picture transfers on the seat. 2 little wheels in front and 2 large wheels in back. There has been old tape added, a long time ago on the front metal'legs' probably to soften the metal against the childs legs, no structural reason for it. Overall 14" wide at the wheel base and 16" long. Seat is 7" wide in back. Seat is 9" floor to top ... moreof seat. Perfect size for a baby, doll or teddy bear. Antique Wooden Doll Bear High Chair converts to Chair Desk/ Table RARE. This is a real nice piece. Downsizing so I need to sell a few things. I am including the bear and he is very good condition also. He is a real cutie and has sat in the chair for many years. The bear has a hump back. Jointed, and 17 inches high. The chair is approximately 28 1/2 inches high, 12 1/4 inches wide, 17 1/4 inches deep. The chair is solid wood. It is in very good condition. Weight is 22 lbs. Hi There: We recently moved& downsized. I know longer have a way to display my beautiful antiques so I am listing almost all my collections. I will be listing over the next few weeks. Many of my small collections. I hope many of you will come back once you see the quality& care these beautiful items are. Thanks for looking. Today for your consideration is a beautiful antique(late 1800's) authentic FRENCH doll or teddy bear buggy. Just so sweet& if I had the room in this new place I would keep them all forever! However I don't, so I am listing my antique riding Horse& 2 buggies today& tomorrow each"separately" Most of these I bought from Germany but one I had shipped from France. THIS ONE! It is approx. 28" tall by 28" long by 13" wide from spoke to spoke. Hand painted designs including ... moreworn but still visible designs on both sides& even a baby angel or cherub or putti? They all have wear but as you can see all original. Sewn in& probably original pillow for seating& the black material matches the top. Only a few slivers of the original fringe remain on the hood. This is a very special one. Bought at probably a high end doll store originally. Only the wealthiest families could afford such a luxury item. I have put it behind my antique German riding horse for many many years but the new house just has no wall space, just open concept& wall to wall, ceiling to floor windows(don't get me wrong, I LOVE this new home! so sadly I have to list all 3 of these items(separately) here is the other catch. The nearest town is one block long& NO big huge boxes so sadly there is no way can ship these items: HOWEVER if you live near the Oregon coast(12 mils south of Lincoln City or 12 miles north of Newport Oregon) YOUR IN LUCK! I am selling all 3 pieces less then I paid for just them being shipped here to the USA. I am trying to give someone a great deal as long as you can pick it by summer sometime. There is a lot of patina& antique wear everywhere
