Antique Victorian wicker doll baby buggy or pram. The buggy is in very good condition. The wicker is intact along with the pie shaped celluloid windows on each side of the buggy. It measures 29 inches long, 13 1/2 inches wide and 30 inches tall. The inside of the buggy measures 9 inches wide and 20 1/2 inches long. The brake mechanism is in working order. It has a steel frame, steel springs, a wooden handle, and steel foot brake. Also a reclining back. The rubber on the wheels has oxidized and is very hard. The rubber on one of wheel has broken off. I have saved the pieces and it could be glued back on the rim(please see photos) We are always happy to combine shipping for you. Feel free to email with any questions you may have about this item.

It was found at an estate sale of a local antique dealer who may have added the newer upholstery. The carriage body with its fanciful curvy lines is constructed of woven wicker with a turned wood handle. Everything else is metal. The metal wheels with hard rubber rims work quite smoothly. Pictured in the ... more5th photo above is a mechanism behind the seat that controls the raising and lowering of the foot rest and seat back. There is also a parasol holder with a screw to hold it in place. Dimensions are about 40" long for the carriage with the foot rest extended and 36” with the foot rest folded back x 19" wide carriage and 24” wheel to wheel width x 36-3/4" tall(including handle) All four wheels have a diameter is 14” It weighs about 30 pounds. This buggy is in original condition with the exception of the newer upholstered side cushions. Those cushions need some attention as they are a bit loose fitting. The wicker is quite good with only a few broken reeds in the woven bottom seat along with some minor surface soiling. A slight warp to the foot rest can be seen in the photo above. Please check all photos carefully. And let me know if you want more. There is also surface oxidation and rust on the metal parts and paint loss on the handle. As is or restored, it would be a great decorative home accent or display piece for dolls or teddy bears. With ornate wicker that is curved and braided beautifully. It has the original metal attachments for a parasol, sorry I do not have the parsol) spoked wood wheels with a curved metal strap around each wheel. But certainly very good. I can find no holes in the wicker, but there are some very small spots of worn or chipped paint(does not appear to be re-painted) and I can see a small section(1/2 inch) of missing braided trim on the footrest(check photo close-up) Top works well, wheels turn well, and it seems to be quite sturdy all around. Looks like the interior lining is missing(as seen in first pic) but these can be easily re-lined by an experienced doll collector/restorer. Up for auction is an Antique Victorian Baby Carriage Buggy with Canopy. I believe the carriage is from the 1800's. It measures 54" long from the handle bar to the end of the front wheel. The width is 21" The height to the top of the carriage canopy is 45 1/2" The height when measured to the top of the baby basket is 32" The baby basket is 36" long& 16 1/2" wide. Two of the carriage wheels measure 22" the other two wheels measure 20" The hardware that holds the carriage canopy is made of bronze. The canopy is adjustable& removable. The lower portion of the wooden arms that connect to the handle bar have been reinforced. The wheels still maintain their original rubber on steel spokes. The carriage top is adjustable to flip forward or back to block sunlight as needed. The foot rest is also adjustable to fit an infant to a toddler to a sitting or prone position. All moving parts work. There are no manufacturer tags or marks that I can find. Antique 1900's Victorian baby carriage / stroller - Geo W. Travers, NYC
You are looking at a Victorian era antique wicker baby stroller by Geo W. Travers of New York City. I'm not sure exactly what year this was made. However after doing some internet research, it seems that it's from the early 1900's. I purchased this lovely piece at a Victorian antique store in Belvidere, New Jersey about 14 years ago. Years ago, it was once painted and the paint was removed some time after that as you can see from the detail in the photos. The bottom lifts up as you can see between photo 1 and photo 2. Everything is all original and I have done nothing to this piece as to not affect the antique value of it. The wheels are green with black rubber on them. Slightly worn but not badly at all. 4 Antique Wood Spoke Wheels w Rubber Tires Baby/Doll Carriage/Buggy Victorian
11 1/2" diameter with the hub having a 1/2" diameter center hole. Hub is 2 3/8" in depth. Paint on the wooden hubs and spokes is original and sort of a yellowish cream with one side being accented with red striping. Rubber on the tires is good with one having about a 3/16" separation between the rubber joint. Rims are steel. They're pretty nice. Antique Victorian Wicker Baby Carriage w/ Parasol. Pram Style Buggie, Early 1890 This baby carriage is from the Victorian period and in nice working condition. A wonderful display for photography. Displaying a doll collection, or pushing your little angel around town. The material looks to all be original and complete with both sides. Bottom and back. The buggy measures 35" inches tall without the adjustable& folding parasol. The length with the footrest to the handle is 42" inches long and the width is widest part of the back wheels which measures 22 1/4" inches wide. The footrest is free and adjustable back support allows for the seat to lay down for a bed. The carriage rolls freely and easily and is a black steel frame. And the carriage has a foot brake that holds firm. The frame of the parasol is complete without any ... moredamage and a unique folding design. A true survivor and a beautiful piece of American history and one sure to get all the right attention. Condition is great with just two minor repairs besides the parasol cover and lace with will need repairing or replacing. The reattaching the wicker side foot panel(or leave it off) And there is a little bow to the one foot rest sides from the side panel being off. The material on the parasol is aged with some staining and the lace is damaged. But an easy repair for someone that sews. The only damage on the wicker is at the footrest where one of the sides have come off and these two pieces are included in the sale for reattaching. It appears the wicker was painted or maybe this is the original paint. Not sure. I could deliver this carriage if within reason of my area in Michigan. And the carriage can be also picked up. This is the large one and I've also a medium sized one that I'm keeping. They are made of canvas, wood and metal. Very solid, sturdy and extremely well made. This large one has no issues or concerns. The handle to push the buggy is slanted and that's how it was when I bought it. It does roll w/o a problem. The bonnet can be moved up and down, but would need to be oiled. I used this for displaying numerous decorative items over the years~bears, dolls, Christmas bulbs, wrapped gifts, etc. I've also seen these used for holding toilet tissue and soaps in Victorian bathrooms. Was given to me by my grandmother. But no longer collecting baby dolls. I am not for sure on the detail of exactly what the doll is or where it came from, but I do know all of it parts are original and both are 30+ years old. The carriage is in good condition with no missing pieces or cracks. My grandmother says the doll is porcelain, but looks to me like a hard plastic. A very smart Ebayer suggested that this would make a lovely photo prop. It is not large enough to hold a baby. But a child dressed in victorian christening dress, holding this lace covered.toy would make a very pretty picture. Note: someone just told me that because the wheels are wooden. In the Joel Ellis style, circa 1870s. It measures 33" from the handle to the front wheels, 23 1/2" from the handle down and 30" from the top of the metal hook down. The carriage is wood with a scalloped edge, looks like original paint, the wheels are also wood. There is a curved metal support under the carriage, a portion of one bracket is missing. The metal piece in front of the handle may have held some type of cover that is gone now. The wheels wobble and are intact. The interior of the carriage is partially lined with antique wallpaper. Antique victorian baby carriage originally. Now I would use it for large dolls. The name of the carriage is the"Kensington" Pat'd. July 5th. 1875. It was made by S.Charles Bros. 11-10 B'way. N.Y. It measures 37 1/2" long, including the handle it measures 51" long. It is 24 1/2" wide, and 35" tall. The body is wicker. The bottom is wood. The wheels are wood with metal bands around the edges. The four center caps of the wheels are brass. The handle is wood with brass finial ends. There is a wood plaque on each end of the carriage to attach an umbrella on either top or bottom. An oval plaque with the name of the carriage is mounted on either end. There are two metal rings on each side of the wicker edge to hold a cover or blanket with clips. LATE-1800S 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE VICTORIAN PRIMITIVE WOOD& IRON BABY BUGGY PRAM CARRIAGE. There are 2 separate pieces to the baby buggy carriage which are original to each other and came together-the pieces are not attached to each other as the straps and mechanisms which held them together are not present-please view pics of the two separate pieces-pieces are original to each other and the carriage and were one unit when made in the 19th century(see pics) I will mail these pieces separately(in individual boxes) because of the size& weight consideration when mailing. There are two sections as stated. There is the iron baby carriage frame which consists of 4 iron wheels and the frame-it has 4 wheels-2 larger wheels and two smaller wheels with axles and appropriate hardware-springs-rods-etc. see pics)hardware appears to be all original, ... moreaxles appear complete and wheels turn easily and freely-please view all pics as to condition and parts to carriage frame, it shows wear, age, and rust(see pics) It has old dried rubber material encircling the iron wheels-not plastic-rubber material shows loss and wear(see pics) It measures approx. by itself 28.5" long x 15" tall x 15" wide. The second part is the carriage made of thick wood and is covered with old faded-worn-damaged blue cloth which shows much loss. Tattering, and wear to the old original blue cloth fabric covering the carriage(see pics provided) The wooden carriage is comprised of thick wood which has some cracks in some areas(I have shown back of the carriage to relfect the crack in the backboard of carriage-see pic provided) I have shown the bottom of the carriage as well for your inspection-see pic provided.
